Sounds interesting - can you post the description? Here it is quoted directly from P.C. Freeman, Modern Pistol Shooting , Faber and Faber, London, 1968, pp 104-106. “The mirror sight has been introduced to free pistol shooting by Reiny Ruess, a member of the Swiss National Team. It is described in ...

Yes - "Laserschriftet" refers to it being laser etched. However when I first glanced at it, it made me think of the weird parabolic mirror foresight system that Hammerli developed for the free pistol back in the mid-1960's. U.I.T at first approved it, then later banned it. I have only ever...

None whatsoever, but I signed the petition anyway.
Have any prominent Tories indicated that things could change under a future Conservative government?

If the condition is good and the price is right, go for it. In terms of actual "shootibility" the 162e is essentially the same as the 162ei - the sights, balance, trigger feel are all identical. The difference relates to not having an interchangeable cylinder, the electronics operate at a ...

Yeap - after a jury trial he was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity (a "paranoid delusional disorder"). He was sentenced to spend up to 25 years in a high-security psychiatric hospital.

Re: IZH 35M availability

Hi Folks, Sometimes, you realise that New Zealand is a long way from anywhere... However, fora like this do a great job of shrinking the world. Our range of new target pistols here seems pretty restricted, and Murphy's law dictates that those I'm interested in seem unavailable. Baikal importer has ...

I'm with you Bryan. The grip on my FAS 603 .32 suits my (large) hands really well and it was the one pistol out of my four ISSF pieces that hardly needed any modification. David L's suggestion of installing a proper hex-head bolt with the top filed down solved the problem of the hammer assembly work...

A couple of members of my club have been using Unique 32's for years without any problems. If you avoid using "hot" loads, you will greatly reduce the chance of cracks developing. IMHO, Lapua .32 factory loaded ammo seems to be hotter than most and I know of cracks which developed in an ea...

If you want to try making a D.I.Y target changing system, a cheap cordless electric drill makes a great motor unit. The battery pack means you don't have to worry getting mains power to the rig, the switch to change direction of the drill moves the target forwards / backwards and the chuck makes it ...

An eloquent quote

I recently came across this passage in a V.S. Naipaul novel which I thought was worth sharing. It eloquently describes a sensation which I and I’m sure many other ISSF shooters are familiar with - but he expresses it much better than I can (but then, unlike V.S. Naipaul, I don't have a Nobel Prize i...

I've been using Ed's Red as my primary gun cleaner since I started shooting and have found it to be excellent. I've never had any call to add the lanolin though. It's also a bit stinky so my wife insists that I only clean my guns outside (fair enough). I make it up and store it in a aluminium campin...

I own the .32 version (603) but have also shot both the 602 & 607 on a number of occasions. They really are fantastic guns and as David said, they are very forgiving. Had I not already purchased an AW93 before I discovered FAS pistols through my 603, a 602 or 607 would have been my first choice ...

The LP10 (IMHO) is a little more "fiddly" to load than the Morini 162ei. With the LP10 you must manually load the pellet directly into the back of the barrel. Closing the breach lever then moves the air outlet forward and seals it onto the back of the barrel. It does require a higher level...

Re: Izh35

The Walther versions were all tidied up in that respect I believe, no cyillic characters.
The same thing applies to the tuned Frankonia version (the "Frankonia Favorit") though it does cost a bit more. I don't think there is anything which marks the gun as being "Russian".

Re: Importing IJ35

The EAA imported IZH 35 has a grip safety and a manually operated safety lever. Presumably these were (are) required by US law? Does the European IJ35 have these two safety features? Not on any of the examples I have seen. However neither does the Pardini SP, Morini CM22, Hammerli SP20 - or any num...

Thanks for the info. After looking at the photo - it looks like item #8 is only 399 Euros. Of couse I don't speak German, so possibly thats just the price for a .22 calibre toaster. However, if it's not, 399 Euros ($509 US) seems like a great price for an IZH-35 with an anatomical grip. Yup - that'...
