Re: Rear sight centering

Shadow / distortion showing up at 8 o'clock can mean that there's something blocking the field of view at 2 o'clock, or 180 degrees from where the shadow is visible. May be the rim of your shooting glasses, or your eyebrow.

Re: Thoughts on shooting coats

I have the Creedmoor "AHG-ANSCHUTZ LEATHER ISU SHOOTING COAT." One of the reasons I picked it is non-functional: it does not have any bright, gaudy colors. The item description does state "ISU" and not "ISSF." One of the recent rule changes is that "The constructio...

Re: Non-perscription shooting glasses recommendations?

A while back, I was looking for shooting glasses with high clarity and was leaning toward glass lenses. I posed the question to my brother-in-law who happens to be an optometrist as well as a highpower rifle shooter of the thousand yard variety. Turned out he had gone through a similar selection pro...

Re: Stock support for Air Rifle (ISSF rules)

The appropriate section of the rule book appears to be: 7.4.2.6 Weights a) Barrel weights within a radius of 30 mm from the center of the barrel are permitted. Barrel weights may be moved along the barrel; b) Any other weights must be within the dimensions of the stock; and c) Any devices or weights...

Re: Which LG400 model?

I had upgraded from the Hammerli AR20 to the Walther LG400. I went with the Alutec Competition. For comparison, I suggest downloading the LG400 manual. There's only 1 manual for 4 LG400 variants, what they refer to as Basic (sometimes referred to in some stores as Economy), Competition, Expert, Anat...

Found a tuner, Walther dovetail

My search for a tuner with a Walther front dovetail is done. I searched everywhere, and had contacted several tuner designers. One was willing to cut the narrower dovetail but the problem was the 70 degree dovetail angle as discussed above. Some blocks can be used to fit say an Anschutz foresight to...

Could you post the gist of the PM's you received? I got information about other equipment options for Walther dovetails that I was not aware of. There's indeed a lot of valuable information in this forum, although I've only gone back to page 28 of the current 81 pages. When I first fitted a tube I ...

Thank you for the informative PMs. I was able to get the schematics for the Walther dovetail and am posting it here. If prohibited. go ahead and delete. How does a tube affect the original sight alignment when the original front sight is moved to the end of the tube? Presumably, a tube would cause t...

Walther or Anschutz front dovetail?

Hi, everyone. I'm new to rifles, and so new to smallbore that my Walther KK300 is only arriving tomorrow. I will install bloop tube/tuner and that will provide me an opportunity to switch dovetails. If I get a tuner/tube with Walther dovetail, I can use the front globe sight that came with the rifle...

I bought the MAR177 just less than month ago to use with my also-new Rock River Arms NM A4. MAR177 was my first PCP so I wasn't sure whether it could be stored with high pressure for an extended period. Perhaps I read too much into the manual's section on "Depressurizing the Airgun." I pos...
