Re: Sling position - high or low?

If you look at the video of the last two shooters, you will see a dramatic difference in position, one low the other high. I always thought there was a minimum angle between the ground and arm and it looks like one shooter is very low while the other is much higher.

Re: Fitting non-FWB sights to an FWB 2700 Alu?

I have a step base the fits the dovetail on my bloop tube. I purchased the step base several yrs ago from Gunsmithing, Inc. I'm not sure if they are still around, however. The step base tightens just like the front sight, no drilling or tapping was required.

I've tried the Bowling Green gallery and the Ft Benning gallery and neither work for me. All I get is one thumbnail image with an indication of the number of photos in the gallery. When I click on the thumbnail a new page loads with no photos. There is an error indication icon on the bottom of my br...

There seems to be a problem with your galleries. Only one thumbnail shows up and when you click on it I get an empty page, no photos at all. This is for the top three or four galleries listed.

Nicole, as a pistol shooter you know the ultimate distraction is hot brass landing on exposed skin. Some shooters are not very considerate of those next to them, try another lane, let him annoy someone else.

I think the expectations of certain athletes are imposed from the outside, by the media to bolster ratings. From what I've heard of Miller he is more interested in his individual performance than winning, he didn't win any medals, so he is perceived as letting his country down. please!. However, whe...

USAMU 3P seminar

Sat and Sun the Central Florida R&P Club hosted a International 3P seminar with two shooters from the AMU. I was able to attend the Sat session and received lots of very good information on position and rifle set-up. The seminar was divided into a 3x20 match followed by classroom instruction on ...

Thanks for the reply. Right now I'm using an Anschutz 2007 stock that takes spacers to adjust height/offset, a real pain to adjust, which is why I want to get as close as possible to optimum adjustment on cheek rest height.

Cheek piece adjustment

When I first got my rifle I was told how to set up the cheek piece for proper head position. Now I can't find the link to those instructions. What I remember is that to set up the cheek piece properly, you are supposed to fire the rifle without the rear sight and see where the rounds hit. The rest I...

I'm using a Thune UIT 2. I like the fact that it won't stretch and it won't slip down the arm with the rubber used to line the arm portion of the sling. The material does have an interesting odor, however!

I've seen a lot of highpower shooters with stands that have 3/4"-1" shafts instead of the 5/8" of the normal smallbore stands. The thicker shaft is more rigid with the heavier 80mm scope.

Plastic for cheek piece

There are several plastics available that can be heat formed. Styrene sheets, a product called Sintra (PVC in sheet form) are two that come to mind. Both products come in different thicknesses. Styrene comes in thicknesses from 1/32" to 1/2" or more. Sintra comes in 1/8", 3/16", ...
