Going to check one out/shoot it on monday. Is there anything I should look for - known wear/stress points, or anything like that?
Typically I check the barrel crown, breech, overall condition/functioning, etc...
Thanks for any input!

Thanks for the info guys. From your input as well as some others, I take it to be a custom barrel. If I happen to buy it, I'll post pics. Hey, how does the price sound - $900 OBO Comes with 2 mags, and an UltraDot 4-Dot, mounted. All in exc cond. I thought it to be a pretty good deal, especially sin...

Question on Walther GSP .22 barrel...
I'm looking at a used one with what appears to be an aftermarket barrel. It looks to be stainless, with no front sight or any markings on it (I've only seen a couple pics). Square, of course, not round. Is this one of the aftermarket barrels that I hear about (commonly used for greater then 25yds, a...

Thanks for the info, guys. Very helpful. I didn't realize the grip was meant to be carved up, like an IZH-46 air pistol. The Rink grip comes really clost to a perfect fit, so I think I'd go with that. Larry's said they'd give me $100 credit if I purchased it with no grip. Gotta say, the gun sure is ...

Couple questions for owners of Pardini SP New...
Did you find the factory grips satisfactory? Or do you find yourselves swapping out to Nill's/Rinks? How much can you affect the overall weight with the barrel weights? 6 in there, correct? I'm just a bit tentative in dropping the now $1529 for a new one. I see lots of SP's in my league, but they're...

Nill makes grips for just the Military grip angle. Rink has one that mentions the 103 frame (slant) and another that doesn't mention frame, but appears to be more upright - assume this would fit the 107. I believe Vitarbo (avail at Champion's Choice) has them for the HS, too. In my experience, the N...

I think the 95 is an excellent value, especially in the used market, where they can occasionally be found for $500-$550. I found such a gun, added a Rink grip and red dot, and had a really nice-shooting bullseye rig. (Just an FYI - you can get a $5 grip spacer from the model 90 to increase reach to ...

Walther still producing GSP's ("base" model, not E
My understanding was they were no longer made, replaced by the GSP Expert. However on Earl's site, they appear to have them. I called and got the reply of yes, they still make GSP's. But afterward realized, I should've been more specific as to Expert versus "old style". Perhaps just a lot ...

Anyone who shoots just .22, using a 1911/Marvel ?
I realize the big benefit is consistency for 2 and 3 gun matches. But does anyone like them enough to use for just .22?
Just curious. Thanks for any feedback.

Triggers - Single stage or 2-stage for Bullseye?
I handled/dry-fired my first 2-stage trigger tonight (Pardini SP). Having only ever used lower-grade single-stage triggers, I was very impressed. It seems as though it'd be a huge benefit for slow-fire, and probably even timed. But I'd think that Rapid-fire would be harder (than a short, crisp singl...

Just a thought, but.... My guess is that the lube is more for the purpose of helping the bullet feed. Many of the target guns have tighter chambers, and I know I've heard people mention putting a drop of oil on the tips of bullets. Some also don't have much of a feed ramp. Just a theory. I'm sure ot...

Not sure what you're shooting, but these would be my picks for accurate/inexpensive: If your pistol can tolerate something closer to high velocity: Federal Auto Match. Best price on this is, of all places, Wal-Mart! $11.95 for 325. I've used it in a Ruger MKII and Browning Buckmark with excellent re...

To Pat McCoy's question... That's why I'm asking. I've been somewhat inconsistent with my pull/release. If I had a perfect, repeatable release - I agree, I wouldn't care how I got there either! :) I know part of it is that my finger comes through the triggerguard a bit too much. I find myself adjust...

Finger placement on trigger, part 2....
I've read all the posts on placement, with regard to how far in... the pad, the first joint, in-between, etc... But, with regard to the angle at which the finger crosses the trigger - am I correct in thinking that perpendicular is ideal? i.e. If you were looking from behind (on a RH shooter) the fin...

Just a quick follow-up on this.... The higher rings seemed to do nothing, at least for me. Tried high and std back to back. The dot was still well above, and out of view through the tube, with the high rings. However, in reading a shot-process routine, I came across an interesting thing. With the gu...
