How do you use your sighters?

Looking for discussion of how to best use your sighting shots. I know this will vary with discipline (no need to track the wind if you are shooting AP...). My last match, I only took two shots, enough to let me know my sights were on. Soon after I regretted this, as I could have taken a few during w...

Hi, Nimarisia, and welcome to the forum. Only you can answer your questions for yourself, but I can at least share my answers to similar experiences. Does shooting at a stationary target get boring? The better question is to ask yourself what you want to gain from this activity. Why do you want to l...

The nice thing about copy paper is you can print and shoot mandalas. Shooting as meditation, just remember to focus on your breathing! I started my son shooting by having him draw mosquitos (not life size) on a sheet of copy paper, which we taped over the pellet trap. But "real" targets ar...

To develop a drill, you have to break a part of the shot process down to as small a part as possible and work on THAT. If you will just look at some really good scatt files and start trying to break them down into individual parts, approach, hold, shot time, trigger release, follow through.... I'm ...

I think I am not the only person who would appreciate your sharing some of these drills. Would you be willing to post them to the forum?

f I absolutely have to travel through one of them, I drive straight through and make no stops for anything. It's pretty easy to avoid stops in the diesel jetta. Good Luck. not so easy if it is a mandatory "border control" check, which you may be subject to any time you pass into or throug...

So I've had it exactly one week now, and put in 4 or 5 session with it. Mixed feelings. First the negatives: The software is more limited than I had expected (means, but no variance? No ability to run more sophisticated statistics, no ability to filter/generate stats on subsets of the data,...), and...

Re: another option....

: that person will handle the gun at check-in at the airport? . Are these your bag(s)? Did you pack them yourself? Have they been out of your sight for any time? Do they contain any prohibited or dangerous articles? Did anyone give you anything to take on the flight? You might run into difficulties...

They would also talk about my mother's family, insisting she had a brother named Robert. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob%27s_your_uncle Fairly kind of them, considering the comments I used to make about my co-worker's mothers. Generally a donkey was involved. None of this was as bad as Scotland, w...

Quantifying/tracking technical elements

The following came up in the discussion on the value of a SCATT system I would respectfully suggest that an improvement from 8 to 9 in a short period for a new shooter is perfectly normal and would usually be down to muscle tone giving increased stability, as well as an improvement in the technical ...

I would respectfully suggest that an improvement from 8 to 9 in a short period for a new shooter is perfectly normal suggestion taken, and appreciated. In the U.S., police need your permission to search your vehicle unless you are arrested. Just say no. The fourth amendment supports your assertion, but the reality on the ground does not. Or, if the police do respect the letter of the 4th, recall that they have extensive training in appling psychol...

Thanks, all, for your insights. I know you can't answer my question for me. I do find it very helpful, however, to be able to openly discuss my thoughts and concerns with people who know what they are talking about, and also Rover. Eric's math sums up my question: Scatt ~$1400, Case of Tenex ~$1800....
