Re: the problem with flyers....
Hi folks sorry I haven't posted for a bit, thanks for all your reply's! competition time is now here and I have been concentrating on that. Rover yes a brain fart is right on the money I think! I am still putting the gun down every two shots and this has had the biggest effect on my shooting, as I s...

Re: the problem with flyers....
been putting the gun down every two shots, then re-starting. its interesting, feels better and slows the process down, what I have noticed is that I have stopped and put the gun down if a shot doesn't feel right much more readily than I would otherwise. its also easier to concentrate, I can let my m...

Re: the problem with flyers....
well, the third week is up now, stance is feeling good, less steady but that was expected and my flyers are less, by more than half. scores are down but that was expected too. did not shoot very well last night, the groups were quite open but less flyers: one on first card, 3rd shot and on fourth ca...

Re: Isakov and Walther LP400
97nick, which pistol will you buy, FWB or Walther? I'm curious to know where your head's at with regard to this, because choosing a pro pistol is a big deal. I sweated for ages before buying mine (what if it's crap?). Having an emotional expectation about a purchase, followed by a delivery of the a...

Re: Isakov and Walther LP400
97nick, my LP400 carbon (M grip) is less than 900g with an empty cylinder. The FWB could be more than 100g heavier (with a medium grip). Not a big deal to many shooters, but something to consider. Also, the LP400 trigger spring experimentation appears to have been resolved. I think the grip locking...

Re: AIMING FOR 10 METER PISTOL
the back sight width should be adjusted according to the lighting conditions at each range. if you then try to make the gap under the bull equal you would have to adjust your sights for elevation too. just establish a constant that suites you. not too close to the round though as again lighting can ...

Re: the problem with flyers....
thanks for your advice guys, seems to be that finest/muscle (I.E core, shoulder etc) and resetting the shooting sequence are the main points. I have included two nights a week to aerobic training, to help with this, and been doing that for the last three weeks and feel better for it. I have to also ...

Re: Isakov and Walther LP400
Isakov is one of my heros.
I have short listed the LP400 carbon along with the FWB P44 as me new pistol (the wife says I can get a new one next month....)
and stop being nasty to conradin. guns are awesome things and I make it my duty to play with as many as I can :)

Re: the problem with flyers....
I agree I do need to improve fitness, but I do train and have done for a long time, a 12 card shoot is not a problem. that said I have started a more intensive program and I do need to get fitter! any hoo, hows that for pressure? shooting 8 cards and telling the world I am going to post them?! lol (...

Re: the problem with flyers....
its not the pistol, I can call the shot I take as the flyer, and have tried different pistols etc.
looking forward to the range tonight, but not expecting anything great as I am knackered Lol. I will post the targets and an update if I am not too embarrassed...

the problem with flyers....
Hi folks, I am shooting well, better than I have before ever, but I have a problem with flyers. its pretty regular, one out of five, and they go all round the clock, but mostly at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o'clock. it is sometimes my trigger pull, but mostly it is when my gun will stray off the bull and in th...

Absconding absorber
Had a strange shoot on my last comp, didn't shoot well (yes it was me) but the first shot I fired the muzzle flipped. not on other shots, but twice I had shot and thought, "that's a good one" scoped it and it was in the 7 ring! I have a LP10, its about 16 years old now or more, and I dont ...

Re: What do you do between shots?
actually, I find anything that is exaggerated is bad: lifting to high, breathing to deep or shallow, holding to short or long on the follow through etc. I would say 30 mins for a 60 shot match is to quick and you should slow down? preparing for a shot quickly can help though on a shoot off when you ...

Re: What do you do between shots?
First, I call my shots. In both languages I know. If I am out of idioms, I add some body language to it. Then I look through my scope and transition to cursing (in all three languages at the same time) the day I decided to pick up shooting instead of go-kart racing. Then I think about racing a bit,...

Re: I did somthing silly the other day.... up date
its funny how some grips just seem to be better than others.. I would like a Rink for mine but not sure I want to spend any more money on the pistol. I think I can get a Walther grip for about £60.00 if I shop around; I always struggle with grips as my hand is very big, but my fingers are short, so ...

Re: I did somthing silly the other day.... up date
I cronoed the pistol and after winding down the power it now does 482 fps or 3.61 foot pounds. much better to shoot, now very little recoil from the shot and very pleasant to use. I took off some of the filler on the lower part of the grip, and my hand fits better now, also I have taken off more of ...

Re: walther LP 300 trigger varying in weight
First thing I would do is set it to proper weight and then use nail varnish or something similar to set the screws in place. Just a small dab on where the screw contacts the frame. Then do 60 shots and weigh it again. If it's fine, it was the screws unscrewing with fire, if not, probably the spring...

walther LP 300 trigger varying in weight
hi folks, my LP 300 trigger is not holding its set weight. it has started to change quite a lot even from shot to shot. I did a search and found a few references to the problem, but can it be fixed? is there anything I can do? it probably needs a service, but will the trigger just go back to the way...
