Re: Simulating nerves in training
During a specific training day take only 10 rounds to the range. To start, you can take as long as you want, dry fire as much as you like, but you only get 10 rounds and have to keep score. Do this once a week in lieu of other training. Then gradually reduce time until you only have 1 minute per sho...

Re: watching the 8s instead of trying to remember the 10s
Remember everything about the process and what you saw for the 10's and don't pay any attention to the 8"s. You already answered your question about the cause. "... (whatever) I didn't see ." Sometimes one gets so caught up in trying to see the best sight picture they start to, I gues...

Re: Shooting Glasses Advice
Some people do better with both eyes, some people do better with off eye occluded. You won't know until you try. The main thing is to get the optical center of your lens centered for your head position when shooting. You will generally need to assume your shooting position so the provider can identi...

Re: Now for something completely different
What I said was it the there would be no alibi if that was the last shot of the string. I have clarified to ensure that with additional wording. "Specifically, there would be no alibi (added: "shooter not" eligible for a refire) IF that was the last shot of the string." If it was...

Re: Now for something completely different
I think the above poster meant to type "refire". Specifically, there would be no alibi ( added :"shooter not" eligible for a refire) IF that was the last shot of the string. If it was not the last shot of the string and the gun then failed to fire (jam, next round not chambered, ...

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
Timing is the same for all pistol shooting. When the wobble area is getting to it's smallest and headed towards the center. Its not an instant in time or a single perfect sight picture. Keep the press moving as the wobble gets smaller / steadier in pattern. Your wobble area will eventually have a pr...

Re: Bullseye Competition Shooting
There are hundreds of NRA Precision Pistol (Bullseye) matches in the US (and a growing number of CMP Match Pistol matches which are just a copy of the NRA Precision Pistol matches). I can't speak for local ranges in the Atlanta metro area, but you will generally have indoor ranges until you get well...

Re: Question about bullseye pistol competition and ammo (50ft one handed) - would SWC or JHP be more accurate or better?
The bullet has a lot less to do with "accuracy" on the target than the shooter. (In general) Dryfire. Work on position, grip, trigger process and front sight / dot focus. Move the sights as needed. But to do that, you need to be capable of making a group. See the dryfire comment above. CR

My apologies. I forgot that when you start arguing with an Ahole, eventually it will be hard for people to tell the difference. So I'll just delete mine so they won't get confused.

The Citadel used to have open air pistol matches. Contact Robert Patton (pistol@citadel.edu) to see if they are having matches in the future.

Re: SWC in M52?
First read the quote at the bottom and get some perspective. We're all pretty "special" here. As for the specifics, just make a chamber cast of a Model 52 barrel, slug the barrel for the bore diameter and check out the rifling twist. The chamber dimensions generally run on the generous sid...

Re: SWC in M52?
Been reading this thread for amusement. It takes a special kind of person to work so hard at making a machine do what it was not designed to do. And an equally special group of people to drive a thread into a completely different discussion even further off the target (pun intended). "I like th...

Generally a quicker solution if you have a camera shop nearby is to just get one there. They generally have them in stock.

Re: Morini162e trigger compared to Morini mechanical trigger
Trigger does not feel the same to me as mechanical. The electronic is more of a "continuous press" through and not really a 2 stage feel for me. However the redeeming quality of the electronic trigger for me is the simplicity of dryfiring. You simply keep operating the trigger without load...

Re: Practice
You can "practice" a lot, but if you don't train it probably won't make much difference. Setting up a training schedule, what to focus on and goals will take one much further than practicing.
