Re: ISSF Rule Interpretations

With respect to weights ... Permanently = in a way that lasts or remains unchanged indefinitely; Very little in the latest stocks are permanently attached. I don't see welding on weights will be popular. Silly rules like this make a mockery of ISSF. They could make themselves useful by doing somethi...

Re: Industry - Summary of Proposed 2017-2020 ISSF Rules Chan

We at the club are trying desperately just trying to survive all the rule changes that are being forced on us. I just had to replace every air cylinder in our club at the cost of a couple of thousand dollars to just meet the last rule changes. Almost every air rifle my club has is a wood stock and ...

Re: The Rio Range

Just to clarify my "rant" regards noise, I refer to usage of the Sydney range outside of WC type competitions. Just normal everyday shooting. Air weapon range is sound insulated but on occasion you do get very loud centre fire pistols banging away & these could be non ISSF calibres - I...

Re: ISSF Music

The music in Rio WC was rubbish. On a different tack, what happened to previous commentator? I thought she was very good, better than new commentator on live stream/YouTube videos.

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt

Regards lasers, I do believe lead projectiles are problematic & one day in the long term future they will be dealt with. You could also throw in firearms security, customs & freight, insurance and firearms licensing into that same pot. Would be a sad day though.

Re: The Rio Range

Hoped they did not copy these Sydney Range features:- sloping concrete floor on 50m range firing points, slow elevator that sometimes does not align with floor properly, lack of sloping walkway means you have to take elevator if you have heavy luggage, air rifle range opposite pistol range so you ca...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt

Too simple, add women's prone or add women to Mens Prone which provides mixed event. Prone is something that represents bulk of smallbore fraternity in many if not most countries. Eliminate prone event is a silly idea.

Re: ISSF World Cup @ FT Benning

Imagine making final 8 with 587 in 3x20 & then being disqualified - ivana maksimovik. All this in a year where quotas are being handed out. I think ultimately the rules are the problem, not the enforcement of the rules.
Cheers

Re: ISSF World Cup @ FT Benning

Seems to be a lot of disqualified shooters in mens prone event and this includes a few of the top guys. Very curious to know what happened.

Re: Back problems for hardcore 3P smallbore & air rifle shoo

The girls standing position has evolved from feet at shoulder width apart & vertical stance to wide feet apart & left hip thrust forward. This is my opinion of what I have observed in recent times. Perhaps also the elite shooters rack up more hours than previously is another factor. I cannot...

Re: Anchutz 1913 with bleiker action?

While not entirely relevant to original post, my Bleiker was fitted to the Grunig stock RS3 several years ago. It needed slight machining to fit the flat bed action for clearance. Not sure if this is still the case with current Grunig stocks. But I love the Grunig. The Bleiker stock I have not tried...

Re: Anchutz 1913 with bleiker action?

Thank you very much. I have noticed Brazils Casio Ripple was using the setup I am wanting But you also see the likes of Sergei Martinov who uses a stock 1913 supermatch. I have a problem with reloading in the way I am having to lift my arm in order to reload which I suspect may be effecting my resu...

Re: Anchutz 1913 with bleiker action?

I have owned a Bleiker for a number of years & although I have not tested to generate group results I know it is far more accurate than previously owned FWB's or an Anschutz. I often describe the experience as point, click, 10. I have been involved in smallbore target shooting since 1978. A poin...

[/quote] The only way to do that would be to eliminate all kit / clothing. At other levels of shooting you don't have to follow the ISSF's stringent rules, each nation is at liberty to simplify them or use what they want. They can choose for example to only use ISSF rules for national championships....

Another shooter disqualified on rule 6.7.9.3 re-inspection in the women's 3x20. The best thing the ISSF could do for the sport is to go through its rule book & strike out every item except that which clearly & measurably eliminates the unfair advantage. The current rule book fails on deliver...

If the event is air rifle and the perception is you are getting elevation shifts during a match then I would consider testing the air rifle over a long series of shots using a vyce. I have experienced inconsistency in elevation during air pellet batch testing that was caused by the rifle. Cheers Kevin

I hook up while in position similar to photo above with shooter shown in firing point H. Then starting well back from scope, lie down & then crawl forward a little bit to get jacket & pants into a consistent position.

What about velocity? You need to consider velocity variable on pellets. In getting my air rifle "calibrated" for the current stock of pellets I set up in machine vise minus stock which gives easy access to velocity adjustment screw on fwb P70 or P700. Then x- check velocity adjustment with...

You need to learn wind direction & effect on projectile impact, then apply shading to your indoor training. You can practise 5 shot groups at 10 o'clock, then 5 shots at 4 o'clock- 9 ring, 8 ring locations, etc. With current issf time limits there is little future in waiting on the wind in a mat...
