While I know there are some excellent FP shooters lurking out there. I do use a centre hold on all events including FP. As for practice I usually shoot 2 half matches/ week but at least 2 full matches/week with FP. My reasoning is based on the fact I have never felt tired nor have had my scores drop...

FP Trigger Pull
IMHO the trigger pull as previously described sounds like a good thought---but, in practical terms 18-20 grams should give you that combination as a good start. You can feel the trigger and still have to sq-u-e-e-e-e-ze. The very light trigger on the other hand of 8~15 grams is much more susceptible...

Trailside Tweaking
IMHO In order to make the Trailside competitive I would suggest sending it to Larry Carter or buy it from him and have him do the necessary trigger work to make this gun behave like a ten-ring shooter.

I think the TOZ is still the gun that one sees most often at matches both locally and on the International scene. It, the TOZ, needs to appreciated as it ain't exactly the prettiest finish and may need some tweaking when you get a new one. I was told it was originally designed to help put up barbed ...

Teams Return
I am so thrilled to see a team being returned this is such a boon to the very core of the shooting tradition of the USA. I only hope more schools such as the U.S.Merchant Marine Academy restore shooting sports to their programs as well. The loss of these shooting programs on the High School and Coll...

IZH46 Grip Mods
I began by first rounding the "sharp" edge on the left hand grip---I then added finger "hollows" ----all this using a Dremel with a round sanding bit at low speed. I then stippled the entire grip using a Sears engraving tool. When all was done I wiped the both grips and shelf wit...

I agree wholeheartedly with Gregg and would not, under any circumstances, ream out the chamber---instead I would spend some time wiping the excess lubricant from the rounds and scrubbing the chamber with a .22 caliber NYLON brush bent at 90 degree and no longer then the chamber length after every 10...

Shooting Lens
Make a trip to an Op thamologist or prescribing Optometrist, sometimes called a DO. Try to bring your shooting monocle with you and tell him you need a lens that will make an object clear at 1 metre---usually a trifocal middle distance lense works beautifully especially with a good iris. Most DO's d...

Kalifornia changes
Just read the USA Shooting mag and the article re: Kailfornia allows "Olympic " handguns.----what a fight over how many years to get the likes of Pardini and Walther GSP etc. off the banned "assault weapon" gun list. Many thanks to Don Nygord, Larry Carter, Wade & Hannelore A...

AR Choice
I think that the auminum stock is NOT the gun for a beginner---too dam many adjustments which will make you crazy---you will also spend your time making adjustments rather than concentrating on the fundamentals. Get a laminated or wooden stock I think you are much better off---also notice that a lot...

Bob, At 450 fps the hole in the paper should be fairly clean but there are several factors involved. As you have heard, the Edelmann targets are significantly better in this regard. In addition, regardless of whose targets you are using storage conditions can have a great influence. I keep my suppl...

The Wobble Zone & the "Eastern Bloc"
I agree with this approach and personally find it the only way I can shoot FP with consistency. Admittedly, as Bob says it is difficult under the stress of competition. Many of my friends call this concentraion technique ,the ZONE, and I have found that as I start each period with a new target it ta...

Shipping Guns
You can ship guns directly to Clark for work---I have used FedEx for many years and have not had one problem---I tell them what is in the package and insured value---ship one day overnight---if they seem to gag at the term "gun" tell them to relax and do the necessary details.

Right now I am waiting for my right eye to heal from cataract surgery, so I am not doing any shooting until after the left eye is done and I am totally healed, however I have not found a single Match Director for any PTO's doing doodly squat about the blinders rule---I think it's a total amount of h...

Weight Lifting Caution
I suggest caution and go slowly---you are not training for an AAU Weightlifting Federation tournament. I recommend that your free weights do not exceed ten pounds per hand ( 5 would be better in the beginning)---avoid going above that for several months---work in repetitions of 10X per excercise and...
