Re: Rebuilding a FWB600 - lubrication question

FWB has a special grease they sell for this. It’s a little white tube and cost about $15. No doubt you can use something different but that is what FWB says to use. Would this be the same grease they sell for the 300 and the 65? I picked up a tube way back when I rebuilt those for another friend, s...

Rebuilding a FWB600 - lubrication question

I'm rebuilding a FWB 600 Single Stroke Pneumatic for a friend. The original piston seal was stuck to the bottom of the compression chamber due to improper lube (I'm pretty sure) that turned the original seal into a glob of soft plastic that grabbed onto the compression chamber and almost didn't come...

Re: Walthe LGR - Resealing - Pics

If it were me, I'd disassemble the rifle to get at the valve and see what's going on in there. There's a good chance that it just needs cleaning - or a new valve seal.

Re: Walthe LGR - Resealing - Pics

Thanks, guys. If you have any sources for other info out there, I'm updating the article with links supplied by others. It can be a pain to track down a multitude of URL's when researching a rebuild/reseal/etc so I hope to have a one page stop for folks who want to redo one of these fine old rifles....

Walthe LGR - Resealing - Pics

I recently rebuilt a Walther LGR for a friend. Here's a chronical of the build. There's not much info on rebuilding these rifles on the 'net. So this is an attempt to fill some of that void.

Re: Rebuilding a FWB 300S - New pics

Well, the first bit of parts for the rebuild project arrived. Ended up ordering from fleabay as FWB's price on the major assemblies was way more than I want to spring for on this rebuild. So the trigger bar assembly and the sledge assembly arrived today. Contrary to the seller's assertion, the trigg...

Re: Rebuilding a FWB 300S - New pics

Finally got time to sit down and list the parts needed to get her up and running again. Attached is a PDF of the request for a quote on the availability and cost of the needed parts, it was almost easier to list what we DO have on hand! :-D Last time we contacted them with a similar request they had...

Re: Are you .32 shooters playing with these?

That reminds me I need another 32 SWL... our last one was quite a shooter with those.

Old School Gunology

Here's an article written by a friend of mine, Jim Taylor. It's not directly linked to the subject at hand, but it does have a lot to do with the idea of the shooter being even more important than the equipment. Food for thought. Old School Gunology John Linebaugh introduced me to that phrase years ...

Re: Rebuilding a FWB 300S - New pics

I forgot to mention about this pic, the grunge on the walls of the compression chamber is from spraying penetrating oil in there to hopefully loosen stuff up to make it easier to clean later. I cleaned up the compression ring, but there's a bit of stuff still there that looks like a gap - it isn't. ...

Re: Parts availability question re: rebuilding a FWB 300S

Well, I snuck a bit of time to tackle the project again. Remember kids - DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! :o The spring compressor did not do much at all, the bolt came out and the piston/compression tube were still stuck together in the action as the screw was backed off, freeing the inner parts for movemen...

Re: Parts availability question re: rebuilding a FWB 300S

This isn't the first 300S I've worked on, rebuilt one for a friend a few years ago. But this one is my first one. It set me back one Daisy 120 with a Gamo 4X20 scope. It was in working order, this 300S isn't. Besides which, first I'll have to build a basket and then fill it with parts to get the sta...

Re: Parts availability question re: rebuilding a FWB 300S

The question is - are the parts available from Feinwerkbau? I've not sent an email yet as I'm cogitating on what to do about it. Yes. Download and print the exploded diagram of the 300S from FWB. Check and jot down which parts are missing from the rifle. Send them a list of the required parts and r...

Rebuilding a FWB 300S - New pics

Good afternoon! After rebuilding a 300S for a friend about four years ago, I've been on the lookout for one to pick up for myself. Here in Coffee Country they are few and far between. Today was the first time I've found one since the one I rebuilt in '14. Now for the bad news. It's not even a basket...

Re: FWB 600 - what can most likely fail?

Thanks, guys! It looks like I'm going to have to pass. Don't have time to drive over there and money's simply not there for such a project at this time. More's the pity, I'd like to get my hands on a decent 10 Meter rifle to go with my IZH 46M pistol.

FWB 600 - what can most likely fail?

Hey, guys. A FWB 600 came up for sale not TOO far away from me, but I've not had a chance to check it out yet. After some digging and probing the guy says it needs new seals. This system is (as yet) unknown to me so I"m curious as to what might be wrong OTHER than seals with a FWB 600. Is the c...
