Re: Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
I am familiar with “ball and dummy” from shooting 9mm pistols at the range. I am also very familiar with field target, although I have never shot in a match. I’ve owned many of the high end airguns used for 10 meter and field target, but I buy them just because I appreciate high quality guns that ar...

Re: Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I live in Ohio, on the WV border. I don’t currently have a 10 meter rifle, but have owned Walther, FWB, and Anschutz ssp and pcp rifles in the past. I never noticed a difference in my shooting ability between any of the rifles and didn’t expect to. I can ...

Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
Hoping some 10 meter rifle shooters can give me some feedback on their experience as a beginner. I’m a soon to be 50 year old man who shoots AP casually in my basement. I have never competed, but Enjoy shooting when my problematic elbow cooperates. I shoot 50-100 pellets a week and dry fire a little...

Grip thickness
Hoping I can get some feedback on the thickness of the stock grips of different manufacturers. My hand is only 92mm (medium/large) across the knuckles, but I have long fingers, so I find that my fingers usually wrap too far around the front of the grip. I have owned pistols from Walther and Steyr an...

Re: WEIHRAUCH HW 75
Here is my opinion, based on previously owning the HW40, HW75, P17, HW45, and IZH46M, Gamo compact, and FAS 6004. HW75 - Excellent accuracy in the two I owned. The bore axis is high and sits high in the hand, so felt odd for one handed shooting. Mine both had the “target” grip and it was a tight fit...

Re: Opinion wanted on new pistol purchase
Thank you to everyone who commented and gave opinions. After much deliberate thought, I have decided to go with the FAS6004 ssp. Since this will be mostly for shooting 10 meter in my house and not at a club, I just can't justify the purchase of an expensive pcp. What little fatigue I might experienc...

Re: Opinion wanted on new pistol purchase
I have no problem with Rover's advice. I did not care for my IZH due to the heavier forward weight. I got rid of it years ago and haven't shot 10 meter since then. I have handled a FAS604 and really liked the more center balanced feel. I love that ssp is self contained and I have avoided pcp due to ...

Re: Opinion wanted on new pistol purchase
Thanks for the thoughts gentleman. The fact of the matter is that the practical choice is the FAS 6004 ssp. I have no illusions about "outgrowing" this pistol. On the other hand, I have an opportunity to buy a new Morini or Walther for about $250 less than they normally sell for. Like most...

Opinion wanted on new pistol purchase
I'm a newer 10 meter pistol shooter looking to buy my first PCP pistol. I had an IZH 46M in the past and never came close to outshooting it, so this is purely an "I want a new pistol" as opposed to a perceived need. I have an opportunity to purchase a new "old stock - 3 year old"...

John
John, I think you're right about the price on it and I figure if I decide I don't like it for any reason, I should be able to easily get my money back when selling it. I already spoke to the seller on the phone and he said it has a medium grip. He said he has fairly large hands and it fits him well,...

Rover......
I already have an air source. I've been shooting rifles for years, but I don't know much about 10 meter pistol, hence the newbie questions.

Thanks John
John, I'm not sure exactly how old the pistol is. The gentleman I talked to said he bought it used and believed it was about 5-6 years old. He said he put about 5000 pellets through it before deciding to upgrade to the Steyr LP50, so it has been sitting in his safe for the last 6 months. He showed m...

Thanks Rover
I appreciate the link. I've already read that thread and a few others, so I'm aware of the trigger problems, but other than that they appear to be a very good pistol for someone in my position (newbie) at the right price. I'm just curious what the going rate would be for one in excellent condition.

I've been offered a Walther LP300XT and want to know what would be a fair price to pay for it. It appears to be in excellent condition. Thanks!

Tycho......
I did a search and didn't find much on these two pistols and that's why I asked specifically about them. As I stated before, I am a newbie and that's why I'm seeking the advice of people who have "been there and done that". I realize the "which pistol should I buy" question has b...

Walther lp300 Club Pistol vs fbw p11 Piccolo
Does anyone have any experience with these pistols? I'm a newbie looking for an entry level PCP pistol and would appreciate any thoughts from those who have shot them. Would they be worth my money, or should I buy a higher quality used pistol? Thanks!

walther lp300 "Club" vs fbw p11
Thanks for the replies and input. I do have a pump, so no worries about buying an air source. As I said, I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but I don't want to waste it either, so I'd appreciate your thoughts on the FWB P11 piccolo and the Walther LP300 Club pistol. They are both under $1300 n...
