Re: Which Globe

Today I got a Centra score crystal 22 FWB front site, it measures female wide length= 0.400"= 10.16 mm.
My front dovetail rail on my 2022 FWB 800x measures= 0.475"= 12.065mm wide length.
This site is clearly labelled as FWB.
This must be a manufacturing labelling error,...?

Re: How to obtain such a curve in air rifle 10m??

Last night I moved the butt forward enough to be able to reload while in the air, still a bit tricky, need to spend some time with it, as well as a new set up CC for an offhand stand, and pellet tray. Am excited to see things all coming together. Hard work does pay off, be patient, stay cool.

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

When I say, "my goal is", What I mean is over a long time, like a full season or more. And not for a particular instant for a target. Like the present goal with 10 meter, My ultimate goal is to shoot 100 points Standing. Presently am at 90 to 93 with 5 tens in a row, so trying to get 6 ten...

Re: How to obtain such a curve in air rifle 10m??

I think I am at a spot where I could continuously hold the rifle up and reload and shoot again many times , If that were possible, but it is not possible as the rifle is a fwb 800x, and for me and how it is set up adjustment wise, I can not reach that far with the pellet in my arm/fingers. I have se...

Re: How to obtain such a curve in air rifle 10m??

Hi, I would like to share my work in progress, Have been training for 20 months now, every evening, 7 days a week, an hour to 1.5 hr, sometimes 2 hours. I take a day or 2 off after 30 days. Then back at it. For me, there have been a few performance level steps in the topic of shot sequence, and how ...

Over the summer , shooting the outdoor 50 yd, 100 yd with the FX Crown, I picked up some bad habits. I estimated 2 weeks of indoor 10 meter to break those bad habits, it actually took 2 months to get back to my normal 10 meter. No regrets, summer outdoor is fun.

Re: Sad state of affairs

I am a life time smallbore and air rifle shooter. My local club area has zero interest in this sport, for 30 years now, I have tried to promote it, in many ways, keep it simple to start. But you can not make any one have an interest in something. You do not need all the gear, just acquire it as is a...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

20230915_195742 - Copy.jpg Installed a 1:16 twist 700m barrel with carbon sleeve, meant for 23 grain or greater slugs. Still testing for flyers, presently using H+N 27 gr slugs, at 140 bar, 950 fps. , with much better results. Moved from 50 yards back to 100 yds, 1 st shot was the 7 at 5 oclock, mo...

Re: Shaking things up, escaping ruts, quantity training — how to stay motivated?

Just remembered what I did last winter, I was mildly in your position, but was still shooting plenty. I knew , just hang in there, keep training and it will eventually happen. But what I did was put a scope on my air rifle, this was a swap from iron to scope, I had learned how to shoot scope/standin...

Re: Shaking things up, escaping ruts, quantity training — how to stay motivated?

After 12 months of Standing air rifle, 5 to 7 evenings a week. No television, get rid of your television, tv is bad, tv keeps you from shooting, the only thing you want to do or think is shoot/or train for shooting, which may include bicycling, or hardboot race snowboarding. So after a full year of ...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

20230823_202547 - Copy.jpg No wind flags are in use, as I shoot in the evening and there is not any wind at all. Had been doing lots of Standing at 100 yards for the past month and getting infrequent flyers that I have recently discovered is due to spin rotation vs velocity ratio with Slugs. The sp...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

Still at it every evening, making good progress. Trying to eliminate wild flyer shots, that is not me. Doing warm up slug shots before the record shots is helping, on this target, the 7 was #4 record, and the 6 was 18th shot. Cleaned and lightly greased the hammer spring, and hammer spring shuttle. ...

20230724_211405 (2) - Copy.jpg Replaced the 700mm barrel with a 380mm barrel. Went from 850 fps to 760 fps, less recoil. Slug in barrel time is noticeably less. Much better feel. Looking into silhouette with this FX Crown 22, either air rifle or smallbore distance, maybe air rifle silhouette target...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

Circumstances all lined up for me to do this. Having a lifetime of smallbore position , and 10 m ISSF Air experience. Came in contact with a local air bench shooter, and thought , I could do this long distance air rifle in position style/standing. After much research , got the FX Crown GRS with a 20...

100 yard Air Rifle Standing

I accidentally discovered Long Distance air rifles. Got an FX Crown and am doing 50 yard, 100 yard, with future 200 yard in the works. Having had lots of experience with 10 m Air Standing, this 100 yard proves to be very challenging, using a 22 caliber 700 mm/ 28 inch barrel, 25.4 grain slug at 850 ...
