Teaching ISSF Air Rifle Finals

I am working with my juniors in finals, and at the end of our unit we will have an actual finals... (including a quick qualification) and complete with the announcer and RO using proper commands, times, music... Does anyone have (or know where to find) the script for the announcer and RO for an Air ...

Re: Eye dominance, Does it matter?

Why not use your dominant eye? After all it is the dominant one.... My brother is RH, but cross dominant, as it his wife. My wife is also RH and cross dominant, and so it my youngest daughter. So-- I believe in using the your dominant eye. Switching my wife over was the most fun- he initial reaction...

Re: Make Shooting Great Again!

Something to keep in mind is social media (snapchat, instagram, twitter...). As we all complain about the 'darn kids' on their 'darn phones' remember that they are sharing their sport with a lot of viewers! So the more they post and share, the more publicity the sport gets. So, remember to give them...

Re: FWB Weight Rod- Thread Size

Thank you for the info- Here is what I made for the weight rod and weights. Nothing to fancy, but thought I'd share what I made since I asked the question. Pics attached. I chamfered (beveled) the front edges of the first weight so that it'll fit fully under the check piece. There's room on the rod ...

Our junior ar club meets on Thursday evenings at the local American Legion- banquet hall. Well...after 7pm it's Karaoke night at the bar in the room next to the banquet hall. So you never know who will be singing or what they will <attempt> to sing! Its quite amusing some nights! We close the doors ...

FWB Weight Rod- Thread Size

On a FWB 800x: Does anyone know the correct thread size for the rod under the cheek piece? I tried to measure it and come up M4.5x.75 however, I cannot find a bolt/screw anywhere in USA to fit it. I can find a lot of taps to make the thread- but nothing to put into the thread. I want to add a weight...

Ahh- great comments. You're making me think! :)

I think the idea about extra butt plates before bloops is money better spent at this point of her career.

Thanks for the advice-

Re: Mega link versus suis electronic targets

What is the cost difference? Any rough estimates?

I'd like to get at least one for our jr club if the funds come through.

Also who is the US re-seller? Or do you buy direct?

Thanks for the post- great info!

Re: feinwerkbau 800x or walther lg 400 anatomic need help

My daughter (16yo, 5' 3" 120# frame) decided on the FWB 800x- because in her words: "it feels better" when she was holding it. My advice- which one 'feels' better? Puck it op a few times, which one feels more natural? The rest of it can be adjusted to fine tune it. Soon it will start ...

Walther KK300

I just ordered a KK300 for my daughter (positional, junior shooter) and am wondering: 1) what bloop tube should I add to it? If any at all. a) what length should I get? b) is a tuner necessary? Or a will a tube be enough? c) how sturdy is carbon vs aluminum....this is for a jr shooter. 2) Any other ...

Re: cross eye dominate

You're not switching- you doing what is natural. Pay attention sometime which eye they use to look through a veiw finer on a camera, or a microscope. That's how I discovered my wife's left eye dominance- she was bring the camera up to her left eye. It was natural for her. When I was teaching her to ...

Does anyone know the thread call-out for this stop nut? I know it's a M12 (metric), but I am not sure the pitch of the thread. I want to make a couple of these myself, but need to know the thread call out. My tap choices are: M12X 1.0 M12X1.25 M12X1.5 M12X1.75 $30 for a tap so I'd like to get it rig...

Re: 9003 Precise Left to Right conversion

Well, I bought it! :) Turns out....it was originally a right handed gun, converted to left (cheek piece, grip and sights). The owner had all the original components to go back to right handed- so I had nothing to lose! I have a great right handed for my daughter to shoot- and if she doesn't stick wi...

9003 Precise Left to Right conversion

I have a lead on a good used Anschutz 9003 Precise for my junior daughter. The current (ORIGINAL) owner is left handed. But my daughter is right-handed. The owner said they still have all the parts to make it right handed. My question is: Is a 9003 "really" an ambidextrous rifle? It was pu...
