18 minutes with SK Rifle Match (but our range is slightly uphill, and at 5200 feet).

Re: Nerves, pulse etc in prone
If you shoot well in practice, and on your sighting bull, but have problems when going to the scoring bull, it is often a sign of a change in mental set. Practice and sighting is just the "usual", but you may then be changing your mental attitude to "this is for score, I m ust try har...

Re: rifle accuracy
Before doing any cutting, try to find a borescope to check the interior of the barrel (and especially the area just ahead of the chamber). If it has been fired a lot, and no special attention paid to the chamber leade area, you may have a carbon ring there. It can be removed. I'd start with soaking ...

Re: Effect of rotating the cheek plate of rifle
It is not a problem IF you get your cheek in the same position on the cheek-piece every time. Some shooters put tape, or moleskin, on the cheek-piece as a locating aid. I watched one US Olympic athlete actually sand out a small concave divot in the cheek-piece, so the cheek would rest in the same lo...

Re: adjustable front sight
The 4.3 maximum size on the small range sights is about the minimum you should use for air rifle. Larger apertures actually give better results, especially in standing. A sight with adjustments from 3.0-5.0 would give you more options.
It is better to err on the larger opening, rather than smaller.

Here' an inexpensive one that will last awhile: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Daisy_Match_Grade_Avanti_Sling_Nylon_32_Max_Length/3407 Skip a jacket for now, and just use a sweatshirt one or two sizes smaller than he usually wears (so it is tight). Put a safety pin on the sleeve below where the slin...

Re: Newbe scoring question
In International style shooting there is no X ring.
In NRA shooting there is no additional score, but the number of Xs is used to break ties (e.g. 396-30x beats 396-29x, but 396-29x beats 395-32x).

Re: Rifle aim spoiled
Over the years I've had best results, with rifle shooters, when they focused on the sight rather than the trigger Allowing the subconscious mind to activate the trigger when everything was ready. I feel that your focus on the trigger allows the subconscious to move your body when you decide to opera...

Re: New classification
The older classifications you mention are NRA classes. They are still the same (but the cutoff numbers may have changed, and can be found in the NRA rules books (available online at http://rulebooks.nra.org/). The letter classes are USAShooting classes, again found in the rule book. (http://www.usas...

Re: Shooting glasses Lens color and pupil size ????
The more tint of the glasses, the more your eyes dilate. And the less depth of field you have. Clear lenses for safety are best. Colored lenses can help outdoors, due to varying lighting conditions. Indoors I feel they are just another money pit. Spend the money on more pellets, a good coach, or goo...

Re: Loosing stability without feeling tired
though I dont feel tired but the shoulder and wrist lock just is not there. You may not "feel" tired, but your body is telling you that certain muscles are tiring. Shooting is an endurance sport, so endurance training is needed. Not only specific muscles used to raise and hold the gun, bu...

Re: How Do you handle / deal with a Sore Shoulder or Arm ?
Get medical advice somewhere other than a shooting forum.
The doc will probably tell you to rest it.
After that get a PT to advise you on correct strengthening exercises depending of if it is the arm, or shoulder, or both.

Re: Scope for 25Y offhand RF?
Many gallery shooters (50 foot range) use 12-36 power scopes. Yes, it takes some getting used to not chasing the crosshair, but that is actually an advantage. If you do dry holding exercises (just holding and finding the proper NPA), at 9x, when you turn it down to 3x it'll seem very solid. We've us...

Re: Weight training ?
the more fit you are the better you shoot. All other things being equal, yes. As previously stated, light weight/ high rep training, BUT even more important is cardio-vascular training. Shooting is an "endurance" sport, so you need to be able to do many repetitions over long time frames.

An officer of the business (corp, association, LLC, etc) may sign the form as long as a statement, signed under penalty of perjury, is attached to the 4473. See the instructions for line 11A on the back of the form 4473.

We keep a 1/8" brazing rod in the vault at our club, just to take care of such stuck pellet problems.
