I also sometimes train with a mirror in the rearsight to ensure that I'm looking through the peephole in the same way each time. Eye problem? Rear peep changes diameter.

So, a new question for me. Lately, when I hunker down to shoot, right as I'm breathing and steadying out, the rear aperture diameter appears to shrink, then grow just a touch, then stabilize. From the timing, it seems just like my iris (in my eye, not the sight) is adjusting. It isn't necessarily a ...

Aha! I just got new glasses. It looks like the upper rim is encroaching. I’ll try to get some sight risers and/or jacking up the nose pieces.
I do frost my left lens. I’ve seen a similar “D” effect if I close my left eye, probably my right lid closing down a bit.

Flatted rear aperture.

When I'm in sitting I get a rear aperture picture that is "D" shaped with the flat part at the bottom. I know not everyone shoots sitting, but it must have come up for others. I've tried moving the comb, thinking my cheek was pushed too far up. I've tried moving the sight forward and aft. ...

My stock Izhmash Ural sights give .0012" per click (about .03mm) and are solid as a rock. They do have a one click "dead zone" when I change direction. They aren't refined in feel, but they do for me.
