Re: Rapid Fire pistol settings

Pistol trigger setup is a very personal thing, hence there is no right or wrong answer. It depends on what works for you. That been said, rapid fire and slow fire require two different setups: - For rapid fire, most people want a minimum travel of the trigger with the shortest reset possible. Usuall...

Re: Steyr EVO 10 barrel weights question

You are just overthinking it.
Put them on and screw in. Snug, not tight.
To remove them, unscrew and if needed twist them off.

Re: Benelli .22 Magazine Maintenance

Good info. Here are my two cents: From my experience, it's the dirt in the magazines that make them fail. My explanation is that they can't keep up with the bolt velocity. Once clean, most problems tend to go away. Feed angle is only a problem if the round is presented way up/down, but also left/rig...

Re: Mark II trigger

Assuming you are referring to a Ruger Mark II, the simplest solution is to find a stiffer trigger return spring.
Anything that fit's in the hole and is harder than the one you have. It doesn't take much to go up in weight.
I wouldn't start stoning anything before that...

Re: Interpreting Targets — Rings of 9s

My 2 cents, If you are shooting 47's and 48's you want a longer sight radius. If you are wobbling around the 9 ring, close the rear sight and make it's depth smaller. This will help you with sight alignment. But don't over do it... you have to be able to cope with it for 70+ shots. From my experienc...

Re: Thoughts on reforming RF

Mike, I believe that your comments on RF come from a place were shooting ranges are not set up for ISSF 25m disciplines. If so, any of the ISSF disciplines would be difficult to train/compete in if you have to set everything up from scratch, especially RF. Beside this, even in countries with ranges ...

Why Free Pistols are out of the Olympics

This topic has been debated to death... 15 - Olympic shooting events divided like this until 2016: 5 - Pistol (3 men + 2 women) 5 - Rifle (3 men + 2 women) 5 - Shotgun (3 men + 2 women) IOC (International Olympic Committee) wants (demands!) equal number of events for men and women. 5 doesn't divide ...

Re: Automatic discharge claimed in 10M

This is a hard one to call if it was really a malfunction, unless the referee is looking directly at the shooter in question. 99,9999% of the time, an unwanted discharge is caused by the shooter, so the referee acted accordingly. In my view the call was correct. Shot stands as a 0, and there is no r...

Re: Morini CM162EI: Everything's leaking!

On the Morini, that seal is actually in the cylinder, if I've understood correctly? I'd say it "shouldn't" be particularly worn out, since the cylinder in question is new enough to have been installed on a gun max. 10 times or so. Check for damage anyway. It's not that hard to screw that ...

Re: Morini CM162EI: Everything's leaking!

I have two cylinders that very well may be just as old as the gun itself. One of them is leaking from the manometer end and the other from the end that attaches to the gun. Degraded seals, maybe? Yes. Is this a DIY job? Hell no. You will probably damage the cylinder trying to open them. They have f...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...

I wasn't absolutely sure if they had changed anything else internal to work with it, so I left the old one in place. Is the new version a direct replacement for the one with the green O-ring? No, it's the same part with a different seal. I've replaced a couple of the old type with the new ones, and...

They are a bit lighter that the lightest lead pellets. 6.48gr vs 7gr (light) or 8.4gr (heavy) Maybe a bit more speed is needed to stabilize them? They also mention that they are 20% harder than the lead ones, so maybe they need to be a bit larger (4.51 or 4.52mm) to better grip the rifling and seal ...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...

I suspect that the regulator has lost its marbles, but I didn’t have time to go back and try swapping in our spare. It's either that, or somehow the barrel worked loose after I adjusted it. I will try again on Thursday... That is how I would proceed. Three inches is a lot for the problem being the ...

Re: 32 ACP - "Flash in the Pan"?

Pardini 32 conversions are not always compatible with SP frames. It is probably a good idea to call PardiniUSA and ask if what you are thinking about doing will work before actually buying the frame or conversion. I had a fairly new SP and they told me that a 32 conversion would not fit. I ended up...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...

This is how I would try to fix it: 1- Check if the o-ring on the bottom of the bolt is still there. 2- Check if the o-ring on the inside of the bolt face is still there. Any other o-ring failing would cause an air leak, so I would rule those out. Next, probably something came loose or broke. 3- Chec...

Re: Seals for Feinwerkbau P44

The o-ring that let's go first is usually the cylinder one. Replace that one and see if it fixes it. In your case, part nº 4.9.0002 O-Ring 7,0x2,0 (should be the light green in your photo). The valve is normally the second to let go, it's part 3.4.350.121, and is in your photo. The other ones should...
