It does influence on rifle movements. Not to be a smartass, but how? Barrel tuners and bedding don't play any role until you get the barrel ringing by firing the shot, no? No. Just take your rifle without and with additional weights, close to the end, use the SCATT, observe movement of the trace, t...

The answer given by Gary Anderson makes me sure that the rules should be more general, and afterthat interpreted by the Technical Committee. Why? ...Barrel tuning and bedding systems have nothing to do with rifle movements before the shot .... This sentence from the physical point of view is simply ...

First, the ad copy on the linked page is explicit that it's a barrel tuner. To wit: "With this working Absorber system (similar to the air rifle absorber) the vibration behavior of the barrel muzzle can be reduced and affected positively." Paper is very very patient... OK, the usefulness ...

Rather not... It is usually attached to the stock...

Indeed, as more as it gives nothing, but surely looks great! :-)

I agree sport use to be the cutting edge of technology from there it would trickle down to the masses. This seems to be a trend in all sports this longing for nostalgia. They've basically ruined Formula 1, look at the BS with FINA and swimsuits. They banned the high tech suits and what happened, th...

... One of my shooters shot an outstanding 1176 in the qualification. He had a 15 point lead going into the final! But SFZ, his 99.4 in the final would have given him only the silver medal because another shooter (2nd place with a fine 1161 qualification) shot 100.0. I ask who was the better shoote...

Demagogic.
You do not take the 8 top from 60 prone and make them shoot 10 shots in 10 sec to decide the top spot.

I like most of the changes, but I am really shocked by this banning "vibration reduction systems"! Shooting sport should deal with discovery of new devices, based on the scientific research. I completely do not see ANY reasonable cause to set it as forbidden. As more as in TV such systems ...

I agree. You know, sometimes shooters have their equipment OK, and just before starting, for example the final, they change it or pull a target used as a blinder, etc. Then, a jury member has a choice - either go to the firing point and require corrections or let him go. Jury members are nowadays in...

When controlling shooters blinders we frequently have impression that side blinders are well forward of the forehead, but they are not. This is caused by the fact, that a human head is not rectangular (fortunately!) and forehead has its natural curvature. So, usually we just take a look if blinders ...
