Bill A, Light FP triggers doesn't automaticly mean easier shooting - it can actually be the opposite. For me, about 100 grams is perfect. I can feel the trigger with a "finger flesh roll" without fearing that the gun will fire at the wrong time Cheers, Axel Axel, Yes, I know. 100 grams se...

Re: cm84 trigger

"When you get your Morini you'll see what I mean. The weight adjustments you mention go from very very light to super light." Actually the CM84E trigger is adjustable to 900 grams, almost twice that of an air pistol. See: http://www.morini.ch/cm84.htm Wow, 900 grams! I've had a TOZ, Hamme...

FP triggers are so light (MUCH lighter than AP triggers) that roll triggers aren't feasible or desirable. When you get your Morini you'll see what I mean. The weight adjustments you mention go from very very light to super light.

In my opinion this inability to get the shot off is the worst problem the average pistol shooter (like me) faces, once he's mastered the absolute basics. Holding the shot too long when in this trouble nearly always seems to result in a high right shot (for a right-handed shooter), as the rest of the...

Never had it happen with my 52, but did have it happen with my Gold Cup .45. It's sear engagement; probably needs to be recut or replaced. My guess is cleaning won't help.

I have laminated grips on my Steyr FP. I haven't tried to modify them. I like the looks and feel.

I have to say I've had just the opposite experience with Walther: I've had a GSP and the much maligned FP for years--no trouble. Recently bought an OSP 2000 and just love it.

Hi,

CCI CB will usually not function my OSP 2000. Maybe half the time.

I'll second the Benelli, not bad as it is, and easily upgradeable by adding the Model 90 grips and/or trigger module.

I use a load recommended to me by the late Don Nygord many years ago: 1.7 gr 231 under a 98 gr HBWC. Works flawlessly in my DES 32U. I load these on a single stage press, because I am sceptical of a progressive throwing such light charges consistently. 231 is slightly slower than Bullseye, but much ...

I think target ammo is always better. Having said that, has anyone chronographed CCI hv vs. "target" from a short pistol barrel to see what the real difference is?

Best regards,

Hi Fred, Don't want to. Just citing what the expert Walther gunsmith told me. I agree with your reasoning, and again, always use the softest ammo I can find. Bill p.s. From ballistic tables, it looks to me like the mv for American "standard" velocity (like CCI 0037) is very close to that f...

I don't know the published figures, and in any case published figures don't mean much for rimfire ammo that is used in both pistols and rifles, unless test barrel length is specified. Best guess: the CB is in the 600fps range and the Target Short in the 750fps range (from pistol length barrels). I ...

Maybe a little beside the point of this discussion, but in fact NOT all .38's fire from a locked breech. The Mark III Gold Cup (like the 52 chambered for flush-seated .38 WC, is a blow back.

schematics?

Hi guys, Seems to me that years ago there was a place on the pilkguns site that showed schematics of most of the Euro pistols, including how to make common adjustments (trigger weight, sear engagement and so on). Damned if I can find it now. Can anyone tell me where it is? (Probably right in front o...

I have both a TOZ and a 152. Both are great. Some shooters are uneasy about electronic triggers, which seem to be a little more apt to have problems. The cosmetics of the 152 are better. Beyond that, it's pretty much what feels good to you.

Walther FP

Hi, Got my Walther FP out last week and have been shooting it a lot since then and remembering how much I like this pistol. I know that Walther no longer supports the gun and that some people have been stuck with "dead" guns because no parts are available for the electronic trigger system....
