Re: MEC Frame Glasses
Hi I have just been through exactly the same issue as you. It took me a while to work it out. I ended up going for the 3P system. The problem is lenses. For the 3p set you need 1 lens. For the individual system you need 3 lenses making. You will have the same issue when your eyes change (which they ...

Re: shooting glasses
Another vote for MEC by far the best glasses. Like said above once adjusted they stay adjusted unlike the Champion glasses.

Re: Sling
For me the decision would be easy. I would go with the MEC Centra sling again. They are now much improved over the original slings. I have quite a tight position and my sling is now 12 months old and no sign of problems. Lots of these slings in clubs and at top level. Personally they didn't really r...

Re: Fore Sight
Stock Anschutz 27" barrel, w/11" aluminum tube using a 3.6mm insert. Crikey that is small. 3.6mm would be a tad small for me without the tube. That 3.6mm equates to a 2.7mm or so without the tube. I hope your hold is very, very tight. I would have thought it was a typo and should have bee...

Re: Fore Sight
Hi Martin
Before I added an extension tube I was using 3.9mm foresight element in 18mm foresight tunnel.
I have found the new clear foresight tunnels to be very good much more consistent with different light.

So the weight of the tube not being more than 250g includes the tube, foresight and the tuning weight also???

Re: getting more serious about rimfire 3p
If you are thinking of doing 3p the 1903 is out straight away. Not enough adjustment for 3p. The 1907 also not ideal but would be fine if you had it with the 1918 precise or 1914 walnut stock. But then you might as well buy a 1913. There is not really a cheap way into 3p you need a rifle with lots o...

Re: looking for book review "The Psyche of the Shot"
I agree with John.
Good book but hard going, I am on my second read through and it still not all going in.
Worth adding to the shooting book collection for sure.

Re: shooting to the right
I am not a pistol shooter but maybe try and find someone with a Scatt system. It would show up any problems very quickly.
Maybe someone in your club has a Scatt you can have a quick go on?

Re: How Does my Kneeling Position Look?
Hi Just my thoughts on the position. To me it looks terrible. Looks like your body is leaning back and you will be tensing lots of muscles to stay in that position and stop yourself falling/leaning back. (Maybe the camera angle is making it look worse than it is). Also your front leg being so far fr...

Re: Gap size between Front and Rear aperture
Hi Uki Rear sight opening of 1mm is what most people use. On a standard length barrel the foresight element will be around 3.8 or 3.9mm as a starting point. The actual measurement you asked for I doubt anyone will be able to give you because it's not something shooters really measure. If you stick t...

Re: Duplex frustration
My Duplex stays in the shooting bag. The principle I quite like. The design and manufacture terrible. The little pin size locking screws are a joke in fact my duplex didn't even come with any just a hole that hadn't even been threaded which I ended up doing myself. Even with the locking screws done ...

Re: The last 1 second.....
Hi David Just my thoughts on this. I think you have work to do before you start trying to shoot between heart beats. Shooting between heart beats is mainly only used by fairly advanced shooters and as you have said you have not been shooting long. If it was me I would be working on reducing the Leng...

Re: The last 1 second.....
Guy What do you do in a high pressure competition or final for example when the heart beat is high? Is it still possible to shoot between beats if your heart is 120beats? Or is the focus then on reducing the heart beat to something manageable? I have heard coaches give this as a reason for shooters ...

The shape of your pulse looks to be quite long in the 3 o'clock to 7 o'clock directions. I have just spent the last 4 weeks working on the shape of my pulse trace. Initially I worked on trying to get my L value low but found what was more important for my scores was to have a high % 10a figure. By a...

Re: Adding padding to stock
Hi I had the same problem with my 1813 stock. I ended up making a wedge shaped to my hand. I used epoxy filler and also some polyester body filler. I first taped up the area on the stock that I was going to mould the wedge on to so it would not permanently stick to the stock. I moulded the basic sha...

Re: Which rifle should I get?
Hello guys! I've been shooting with a Anschutz 8001 (I think) for a few years at the club I go to. I have a Diana 460 magnum that I practice with at home but now I want to get a real competition air rifle. The four brands that our coming on my cross-hairs (I'm sorry) are Walther, Feinwerkbau, Steyr...

Re: Noise in the World Cup Finals
Sadly the powers that be in ISSF have decided, that in an effort to placate the IOC and keep shooting in the Olympic program, it must no longer be a precision sport. The new rules in finals events especially have made a joke of the sport. Could not disagree more. I think the finals are a big improv...
