Cheeckpiece
Make sure the force of the head on the cheeckpiece acts perfectly vertical downwards. Any horizontal force (caused by canting the head to the rifle or the cheeckpiece too close or to far off to the cheeck) will result in horizontal forces during aiming and during the shot. During aiming, the rifle c...

off hand shooting stand
Just a thought:
How about using old (folding) tripods used for holding up the screens for showing home movies or tripods used for hairdriers? That way the stand is adjustable in hight while beeing lightweight.

the outcome
Hi guys, I promised to let you know how things develop, so here it is. At my shootingclub I had to instruct a lady in the art of rifleshooting. She is short, sturdy built and has some physical problems assuming the normal standing position for rifleshooting. Also she has not much muscle strengt so w...

looking om the knobs you see "Bei L" or Bei R" - this means: "If L(eft)" or "If "Right". If the shot hits on the left, turn the knob in the direction of "Bei L " (counterclockwise) If the shot hits on the right, turn the knob in the direction of &quo...

target hight indoor prone
In the Netherlands we have a National indoor discipline of 12 meters (in the 3 positions).
Target height is (national rules) 0.4m for prone, 0.75m for kneeling and 1.4m for standing

seals and lifespan
Great!
Is there a procedure for storing a LGM-2 (also pre-compressed) so the seals have longer lifespan?
If the rifle is stored with the breech opened, will it reduce the lifespan of springs and other parts?

I will try both ways with my pupil to see what works best, and will come back on it when we have a final result.

righthanded shooter, left eye dominant
I know that this subject has been discussed in the past, but as a basic trainer I come across (rifle) shooters who are righthanded, but have a dominant left eye. What are the known options for correcting this? (apart from placing the sights offset on the rifle - not possible with a standard club rif...

Just a short comment from a 3P- rifle shooter: Axel states that he has heard/read "top level shoters they keep their focus somewhere in between the front sight and the target". I experience the same many times firing my best shots. In the split second before the shot is released i experian...

Mike, Although I am not a pistol shooter (I shoot 3P smallbore) I heve seen many threads about the subject in this forum and also on targetshooting.ca If you put the black of the target right on top of the front sight (6oclock hold), there still will be some white between the front sight and the bla...

mental focus
I agree with Ed Hall. As an engineer I spent lots of time behind the PC designing pipelines for a.o. offshore riggs. I have a picture of the "perfect"sightpicture sticking on both sides of my screen. Everytime my eyes change their attention from the PC screen to the papers on my desk (and ...

Mental motivation
I once saw an interview with one of The Netherlands top female athletes. She had written her goal (personal record time for a specific international world championship) on the back of a piece op paper and had the paper stuck to the wall. She could read it by turning the paper. Only her trainer/coach...

asuming shooting positions by novice shooters
As a Dutch qualified basic-trainer my club regularly is visited by people who are interested in shooting and who want to know what it is like. These persons are given written and verbal info about cbecoming a member of the shooting club. Also they are given a tour over the club and the shooting rang...

extra button hole
Some shooters (I am one of them) button their shooting jacket with the top button in the second button hole from the top. This way a pulling force on the left part of the shooting jacket shoulder/upper arm is prevented.
Perhaps the extra buttonhole is made for this purpose?

tightness of sling
"The sling doesn't need to be real tight if you keep in in place with a pin or button. You should be able to slip your finger between the buckle and your biceps. - Jay V" Jay, my experience as a 3P smallbore shooter is that the sling is tight enough - not creating a pulse in the arm - when...
