Re: 10m Air pistol / Air rifle ranges Portland Oregon Westsi
Firstly thanks for the PM's from you stateside gents, you know whom you are and I will touch base once I am closer to being on the ground. Well I am very surprised at the getting back into Australia process! I spent the requisite 10 mins on hold to the NSW (state) firearms registry and after dealing...

Re: 10m Air pistol / Air rifle ranges Portland Oregon Westsi
I don't think you will have any real problems bringing an air pistol or rifle into the US. I don't know about the potential issues getting them back home when you leave though. Yes my understanding is that there not even firearms in the US so no issue there. Coming back in will require some extensi...

10m Air pistol / Air rifle ranges Portland Oregon Westside?
Hi May be spending 6+ mths in Portland, considering how much of a PITA it would be to bring my AP and AR (no not that type of AR - banned in Australia) with me not sure it would be worth the hassle. Found this one that may be OK but minimum target distance in the rules is 50ft: https://portlandrifle...

Re: Steyr LP50
Found this in a google search: If you are at the Cup, get hold of a New Zealander by the name of Enrico Hoover, he has just set one up for NRA AP Practice (lots of weakhand). He modified his to 6 shot and it is awesome. We can shoot Plates and Practical (scaled down) in his yard. He is working on a...

Re: Steyr LP50
Sorry not back home until Friday. Did a web search last night the following article that may be the one I was thinking of, unfortunately no online *.pdf that I could find. http://www.ssaa.org.au/handgun/handgun-7.html Anyone one on the North, South or West Islands have that particular back issue in ...

Re: Steyr LP50
maybe i wasn't clear with my question. My plan was to make an entirely new magazine that will hold 6. Fellow in NZ did it some years ago with an LP5, new magazine machined from bar stock, I have the article at home somewhere, give me a few days away for work and I will scan and post a link. All the...

Re: Air Pistol Grips
Hi there Dana
http://www.pilkguns.com/steyrlp50detail.shtml
Towards the bottom of the linked page.
There are 1911 grips for LP50, they may also fit an LP10, there is (at least on mine) a small plastic spaced added for the LP10.
All the best. Peter E.

Re: Steyr LP5 & LP50 magazines
Hi Mike What is the function / operation of the practice clip? Am I correct in presuming the action cycles but little or no air is expended, or is just to ensure that no pellet can be chambered? Does it reduce the noise any? I practice my dry fire by resetting the trigger each time? Fine for precisi...

Re: Pistol mods
Thanks David
Still waiting for my instamorph to arrive.
Did you mix the sand in as you kneaded the pellets and re did the grip, or reheated and just sprinkled on top then re-gripped?

Re: Pistol mods
Used the instamorph and black coloring to modify the grip. It fits very well, but I don't have the support at the heel of my hand that I wanted. I have to do it over tomorrow anyhow. The black sand I ordered to mix into the instamorph is waiting at the post office. ........ David Hi David how did t...

Negrini 2016 SEC case?
Evening Both my newly arrived MG2 and my "old" LP50 have come in the same cases, different colours and branding, but from same molds. The size fits really nicely in my safe so I would like to get a few more for my other handguns. Made a few calls around local (Australian) Negrini stockists...

Very happy with my LP50. I have at least 3,500 pellets through her and she has not missed a beat.
First shot was a 10, if only a few more of next 3,499 had been! A couple of photos at my web page below.
All the best from downunder. Peter E

The guys at my club with co2 guns connect to the tank valve, it comes out as a liquid I believe, hence the lower pressure? Sorry I havn't paid too much attention as the clubs guns all run on air, which I understand is about 3000 psi. Both the co2 and air cylinders are next to each other, but the co2...

Yep, 6 mths before you can own an airpistol and either a rimfire or c/f <.38 (but not both), after 12 mths you can own one of each, but are still limited to <.38 with out a special permit. Large cal. permits only issued for long range met. sil. or western action matches. Also only allowed to shoot h...

I always thought the ISSF made a mistake in trying to make RF air events mimic a cartridge event. I'm not sure that either the 5-Target (falling plates) or Air Pistol Standard events actually mimic cartridge events. As for the targetry, remarkably easy to build at home for the 5-Target event and on...
