I'm still using mine. It's a SWLWC frame with an ACP top end. I bought it that way, used, from the original owner.
It's biggest problem is the magazine falling out in the middle of a string (seriously!).
I need to get a new Rink grip for it, then I'll be using it again.

Re: Anyone still using CO2 match pistols
I have a Walther CP2 that's about 40 years old now. I haven't shot in a competition in at least 20 years. I am planning to shoot it in a match at the end of the month. There are no dates on any of the cylinders. Seems to me they'll never expire. So what is the "scientific" basis for compre...

Re: How to develop steadier hold for Bullseye?
NPA with a pistol is pretty simple. Stand at a 45 degree angle to the target. Hold up your arm to the target(no gun needed). Close your eyes, and wave your arm left and right a few times. Then point your arm at where you think the target should be. Now open your eyes. If you are not pointing at the ...

He is also NRA Distinguished Revolver. That would make him quintuple distinguished.

Re: Why we still shoot the 45?
So the OP doesn't want to buy a 45, and he wants the NRA to change the rules to accommodate him, personally? I don't think so. We can all think of ways to change the rules to benefit ourselves. Either so we score higher, or just change it to make it what we think "it ought to be". Play the...

Since you live in OC, come down to Escondido on the second Sunday of the month. We have NRA & CMP sanctioned matches with a good turnout. You can see a lot of different guns here.

The closest sanctioned match to OC is Escondido, CA in San Diego County. We have 11 NRA Matches and 5 Rimfire EIC's a year. Santa Mararita has one EIC a year. What is the range name and address. Forgive my ignorance, EIC? Escondido Fish & Game Association 16525 Guejito Road, Escondido, CA 92027...

Re: Rating Collegiate Ranges
I always thought the Naval Academy had the best pistol range. It was in the basement of their dormitory (Bancroft Hall). They didn't even have to go outside to go practice.

To get back to the OP's original question,
Are you in Southern Cal? If so, you're welcome to try my accurized Beretta 92. I've gotten 22 points with it so far.

Re: Bullseye near San Clemente
The pistol matches at Santa Margarita are few and far between, especially after their pistol match director was transferred out of the area.
I run a match in Escondido, which would be the next closest sanctioned match to San Clemente.

Re: The future of pistol at Camp Perry
What are you personally doing? I run my club's BE pistol match. I teach new people how to shoot. I try to get club members to try the match. I answer every phone call I get about the match, inviting the caller to try it. I have guns to lend them, if they don't have anything appropriate. It's not wor...

With the exception of Jackh, you guys have completely missed the main point of the article. >>>>>> 86% of the competitors at Camp Perry last year were 60 or older. <<<<<<< That means this sport is dying, literally. Young people are not coming into it. They're going to IPSC (which is more like the vi...

I am a match director in Southern California. At my match, I certainly would have stopped the string under the conditions stated by the OP. Newbie or not. Revolver, semi-auto, or whatever. That range officer was wrong. There is nothing in the rules that says the 'not ready reporting period' ends by ...
