Re: Biathlete Diets

I went as far as filling out your questionaire, but alas I'm not a facebook member. I have a soft spot in my heart for Brisbane though, studying at UQ!

Re: Izhmash Action Question

What is the difference between the Izhmash 7-2 barreled action and the 7-3/4? Could I drop the 7-2 barreled action into an Izhmash 7-4 stock to build a biathlon rifle? Is it even possible geometrically and, if so, what would be the performance implications? quite the delayed response Chris. You guy...

Re: Post your gun thread 2014

I can't post pictures but, I have and 1827 fortner with the pre V2 stock. It was a club rifle from MWSC. The stock has 2 cracks in it, one by the clip carrier, and one down in the barrel channel. It is a heavy barreled 1827. I'm wondering if I really start racing if I should replace the stock. The ...

This weekends race is postponed due to warm weather. We plan to hold the race on 12/21/14. I will be posting a race flyer on WI biathlon's website ASAP.

Post your gun thread 2014

I've wanted to start one of these for a while now. This is straight forward, post a picture of your biathlon rifle and little bit about it. I'll start: My Izhmash 7-3 started like most Russian rifles do, with a bad harness, an even worse sling, sights labelled in Cyrillic and a stock that seemed to ...

Here's the official response. You should be OK to participate if you have USBA membership, your own rifle and are OK without carrying it during the race. Maybe see you soon!

We are still finalizing the race schedule. A birdy told me that the first race will be December 13th at Blackhawk. I will lean on WI biathlon to update the website, sorry!

Re: Changing Izhmash 7-3 trigger reach to be like 7-4

It groups well, including in cold temperatures. The barrel is Larsen. I'm not clear how it's different from the standard Izhmash one, but it is. Poor performance in cold is the one functional bad rap I've heard against Izhmash, but this rifle solves that problem. I like the bolting action and of co...

Re: Changing Izhmash 7-3 trigger reach to be like 7-4

My friend Dave Anana took the attached picture which shows the 7-4 (left) and 7-3 (right) triggers side by side. I don't see any attached photos... Dave imports Bear stocks and is selling me one to replace the original Izhmash one. The Bear stock is real nice and after checking it out last season, ...
