once i saw some girl whose dad painted cars for a living, and he did her rifle too. that was pretty cool. as for the grip thing, i've seen body filler used before.

well, by the sounds of your screen name, i can think of one advantage to spandex.... if you walk around in it on the shooting range, you'll distract all the guys. (hey, it works) but seriously, it's more comfortable on your skin that canvas and if you're shooting outdoors, you won't feel the bugs cr...

i don't think there's one specific joint responsible for instability in standing. i mean, it's standing; yes, it is going to be unstable. unless you have a big butt and wide hips to anchor you down...

but if you want to get all technical about it, "ways of the rifle" is a good book for that

you might want to check out Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club. it's in/around washington, pa. (where I-70 and I-79 meet)

they do all kinds of rifle, pistol, high-power, etc.

i use 2 in prone, all 5 in stand, 2 in kneel....1 in sitting. i once heard of a guy in the army marksmanship unit that said he didn't button any buttons in prone or kneeling. he said his jacket fit him that well. i tried this and it didn't work for me...i don't recommend it, but the idea is out ther...
