Re: Hammerli 208 question
That might be true as every S model I ever saw whether 215 or 208 had a 2 stage trigger. The triggers were also adjustable for length of pull. A friend of mine had a newer 208S that had a big knurly red safety on the back of the slide, while my 215S which was purchased from Osburns ( long defunct im...

Re: Hammerli 208 question
As far as price? $900 seems cheap. I would guess its an older gun, therefore single stage trigger. Newer S models usually go for over $2000. A big difference.

Re: Hammerli 208 question
The only 208 with a two stage trigger was a 208S. The 280 had one as well, but totally different gun. You can quickly tell because it has a fairly straight trigger compared to other models. I believe the trigger guard also has a fairly square front. Great pistols, great accuracy. I had a 215S which ...

Need ideas and/or advice
I have a custom longslide(6") 38 special 1911, that's just not shooting anymore. I need a few names of bullseye gunsmiths who can: a. find out whats wrong with it. b. make me a new .38 spec. barrel and fit it or c. make a match grade 9mm barrel and fit it. I need a smith that guarantees bullsey...

Re: 45 Wadcutter gun
Just keep this in mind when using a .22 conversion on a 1911 frame. I bought a Nelson last year and the quality seemed fine, however, if your frame rails have been peened, the conversion won't fit and you have to send it back. The people at Nelson charge you for a restocking fee, claiming it is now ...

Re: Service Pistol alternates
I found that the best I can achieve with the powders I have is. 4.4 gr Bullseye with a Nosler 180 match bullet. I've gone up and dwn with the powder and that's about it. I also tried the Atlanta Arms match load and the results at 50y are similar. Maybe less flyers but still up there. My 200g hardcas...

Re: Service Pistol alternates
Interesting, I have an XDM in .45 and frankly, its terrible. The best 10shot group @25 is about 3" and @ 50yds maybe I can hit a garbage can cover. I've tried lead and jacketed heads and really not much difference except the jacketed loads are a bit more consistent. Large but consistent. Its ok...

Re: New bullseye pistol
I do agree with most of everything you two last posters have said. However, I've been around longer than I choose to mention, and to my dismay I've never made master. While its true due to nagging physical problems I haven't been able to travel to matches like I used to, I'm not fully in tune to the...

Re: New bullseye pistol
Of course. once again you know everything. If you actually read my post, which of course you just glanced at and knew I was wrong and you were right. You would have read that, a BEGINNING SHOOTER, mostly shooting 25 yard courses of fire would benefit shooting an "OUT OF THE BOX" .32 rather...

lol. I guess you never shot a .32. Although, you know just about everything about bullseye shooting, I beg to differ. A well thought out .32 is very easy to load for. I can tell you 3 loads off the top of my head. A 9mm is has ridiculously more recoil. In order to get the 9mm to shoot, you're using ...

Re: New bullseye pistol
This will probably will not go well with most bullseye shooters on here, BUT....if you mostly shoot 25 yards and/or 1800 matches, then really a .32 is really the only way to go. If you plan on shooting mostly real deal 50 yard 2700s then a .45 is the right choice. Unless your a natural or you plan o...

Re: 9mm slide on a Pardini GTII45-6 Accuracy
I know a few that have the Pardinis GT in 9mm and the results are not stellar and that's at 25yards. The STIs seem to be 25 yard guns with groups around 2" maybe less. The CZ 75s are good 25 yards guns running 1 1/2" @ 25. I never seen a tested one at 50yards. I heard that the 32acp Pardin...

Re: Larry Trigger on Xesse
Actually had one that fit, but didn't know the size and it reached but not where it was easy to use. So off to Sears and I bought the whole set of long hexes @ $16.95. So, you did a lot better than me. And yes the size you quoted is indeed the correct size and as far as I could tell, its the smalles...

Re: Larry Trigger on Xesse
Evidently there's only one lady working the phones. I called 3 straight days to get grips and left a message each time. Finally on the fourth day, someone picked up. She apologized, said they were extremely busy, then took care of me. They do have the best prices on Ultra dots and grips. You pays yo...

Re: Larry Trigger on Xesse
actually found the right size in the back of my tool box. Any way that did it. Really nice 2 stage trigger. Not quite as nice as my old Ham 215S obviously, but its thank you for the advice

Re: Larry Trigger on Xesse
if you happen to know the size of the hex wrench I need, it would be appreciated. Out of all the wrenches I have don't have one long enough to reach, so Im not sure of the size. Hate to order a set and miss it.
thx
