From what we have found by testing 7 or 8 types of pellets in an 888 is that they shoot almost every match-grade pellet well. We use mostly Vogel orange from Pilkington for most of our competitions.

The Valiant is a different story...

I've checked the rules and it seems that it is OK for a competitor to change out their front apertures during a match. We have 2 of the Walthers, and both have had the same problem.

Looks like we are not alone.

They were reasonably priced from the CMP, but it looks like a FWB or an Anschutz are a better choice in the long run.
