Matchguns Chapter 2

The Matchguns business started by Cesare Morini is closed for good.
There is a new owner (sole proprietor) to the business name and brand. It will be a long while before the new company can start producing firearms. I will keep you posted.

Re: MG4 double fire

We recently came across a new MG4 ACP with double fire issue. The ammo we used was custom loaded. Jon did a thorough adjustment on all the trigger setting screws. The pistol still fired two shots consecutively sometimes. After Jon took a careful look inside the pistol frame, he saw the front bottom ...

Re: Matchguns MG2 & MG2E Exploded Drawings

Hi Bob,

The exploded drawing of the new MG2 EVO is almost the same as the older MG2. If the your friend's MG2 is from the early to mid 2010s, the factory may still have the parts needed for the conversion.

Off-set grip

Hi Todd, You are welcome. I have cataract in the right eye so I use off-set right hand grip. And I humeral head necrosis in the right shoulder. Even shooting the lightest pistol or air pistol for about 60 min will cause shoulder ache the next day. So I have started using left hand for shooting. Matc...

MG2 & MG2E weights

Here are the approximate weight break down. Please keep in mind that the grip weight varies a little due to size, whether it is off-set for cross eye shooting, and wood density variation. The following weights were measured with cheap digital scales. MG2 (standard slide, steel counterweight, no stee...

MG2, SP, & GSP Comparison

I have shot GSP and Pardinni SP (New) extensively. Now MG2 is my primary target pistol. I like them all for different reasons. Here is a short description of MG2. • It has very good balance and not nose heavy. May be this is why it is also forgiving. • Its grip is thinner and a little longer than Pa...

Re: Hammerli 150 vs 162 - opinions?

I have shot Hammerli 160 and Matchguns MG5.
160 tends to be a little nose heavy even after removing the plastic housing under the barrel.
MG5 is lighter and very adjustable. It also has a very good balance.

MG2 versus MG2E

For those who own these pistols, or have shot these pistols, which do you prefer and why?
I am contemplating of getting an MG2E and like to know what are the benefits it offers over the MG2.
Your opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Matchguns MG2 and MG2R

I like to get some advices on MG2 and MG2R.

To those who have shot MG2 and MG2R, which would you recommend for Standard Pistol event? Does the MG2R have an advantage over the MG2 when shooting Rapid Fire series in Standard Pistol event?

Thank you for your feedbacks.

Stolen Steyr LP1

My Steyr LP1 was stolen from a townhouse in Hawthorne, CA.

Its serial number is 711872.

It has small right hand grip with gold color compressed air cylinder.

I know this is unlikely, please let me know if you come across this air pistol. Thank you.

Replace the cylinder

There has been a near missed accident involving one of these LP400 cylinders that has been used extensively. The cylinder was propelling away from the LP400 while it was screwed onto the LP400. The aluminum thread on the cylinder was stripped off. It looked like a spring. So it is better to get it r...

grip size

Walther LP400 grips tend to be 1 size smaller than Steyr LP10 grips. I use small grip for LP10, but a medium grip for LP400. Here are my observations on these grips. 1. Walther LP400 medium grip (right) - Its volume and form fit my hand very well. Please see the following link for the definition of ...

Which PACT

Hi dschaller,

Thanks for the info. Which PACT do you have? Midway website has a few negative reviews on PACT's customer service and warranty.

Shot Timer

I am looking for a shot timer. I have read various reviews on Midway and still can't decide which one to consider. The PACT Mark 4 XP seems like a solid one but has many negative reviews. I have tried the CED 7000. Its user interface is not very intuitive. The is also the option of spending only $10...
