Thanks Ed

Thanks Ed I started doing the 'trigger pump" as a trigger finger placement and grip checking procedure since reading your post. I am doing it right after picking up the gun with the action open and watch how much movement the sights have, and adjust accordingly. I managed to get six 10's on one...

For triggers, the Hammerli rifle drawings in this link were actually made by Walther.

Pardini SP New firing pin broke

Lucky I had one spare.
How often does it happen?
Should I get a few more spares?

Ed summed it up extremely well. I started using the Hammerli chamber plugs only after most of the damage was already done. I too thought at first that I could dryfire without causing any damaged, due to the floating firing pin. That pin is too short to hit the chamber wall on it's own without a case...

yes

Excessive dry firing will not cause the IZH to double, in fact the firing pin design is a good one as far as dry firing is concerned. Look at the sear engagement to fix the doubling problem. In my case the firing pin design is not the problem, the soft metal of the boltface is. Almost all of the do...

Izh and Pardini Experience

I too have both. My problem was that I dry fired my Izh way too much and caused to peen badly. I have been able to recover it a few times, buth eventually it starts doubling again. After it doubled 15 times during a match, I decided that no matter how much I love it, I would have to find something I...

This should give you an idea of how, or why, to use the different possible settings.

Anschütz 64 Action bolts

I have a considerable number of club rifle bolts with peening at the front edge of the sear slot.
Should I stone them flat or should I give them a radius?

Eventually will have to remill the front of the slot if people don't stop bashing them.

glove

Just a new glove, finger-less in XL. My actaul hand size is between medium and large. The longer I have the glove on with the weight of the rifle. the more it hurts. I have to rest the rifle down after about 10 ten shots, flex my fingers for awhile, then pick up the rifle again and continue until th...

Cramping base of thumb with shooting gloves.

Is it anything I should be concerned about, or will it go away once the new Gehmann glove gets broken in?

Opening the sights helped considerablely with timed and rapidfire scores.
Much eaier to stay focused on front sight and prevent sight drift.

My pistol club range is a very uniform 18% greycard type of gray.
Concrete floor, walls, ceiling, backstop, everything except the lights are grey. It is owned by railroad police who let us use it a few nights a week.

Place the mag crosspins in a drill chuck and turn it against a good metal file. Make sure the edges are not sharp (give the ends a slight taper to help re-seat the pins in the middleof the follower). Smooth against a stone before removing from the chuck. Do both sides. Test it with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5...
