Chris, that's what I did. I bought an Arnie V grip a bit over sized and carved away until I was happy with the fit.

The iris increases your depth of field just like in photography. The more you stop down the apeture the greater the depth of field. This means that at some point the front sight will be clearly in focus as well as the bull at ten meters. The apeture also limits the amount of light getting to the ret...

Several things helped me get my focus away from the bull. First was a good shooting lens that put my focus on the front sight and made the bull fuzzy. Second was adding follow through to my shot setup list. I attempt in my follow through to see that sight alignment does not change from setup through...

Brian, Your post is interesting to me because I only get that kind of twitch when I am actually firing and not dry-firing. I somehow start anticipating the shot and try to make last second corrections and I twitch and the shot goes high right. Dry-firing actually helps me keep this to a minimum. I c...

That was my progression. I wear distance glasses so I purchased a full size pair of reading glasses that got me focused at about the right distance (the from sight) then I attached an IRIS for finetuning. It served its purpose however stopping down an IRIS also reduces the light that gets through. O...

I think that the pell size was a marketing ploy. Field target shooters when through a period were everyone was sizing their pellets. Testing revealed that getting a good pellet like the crosman premier from a lot number series that performed best in your gun was much more important. It was also wide...

When I Die
My only fear is after I die, my wife sells my shooting gear for what I told her I paid for it.

Think of shaking hands with a six year old child. The hold should be firm enough to show sincerity but not overpowering. The pistol is really cantilevered between the heel of your hand and your middle finger. The grip of the fingers should be progressively less as you move from the middle finger to ...

Believe it or not your eye is a very accruate measuring instrument if used properly. Set the gun up in a vise and put a level on top of the loading port. Next put a heavy black line on a piece of paper and attach it to a wall with the level to get the line parallel to the floor. Using this setup it ...

Tau-7 Compensator
When I purchased my compensator from Rada it came with instructions. Once you set up the compensator with the cone some fixed distance from the barrel shoot several targets. - Base Line Next move the compensator forward in mm increments and shoot targets after each adjustment. Next return to base li...

I would think a comfortable position in which the fewest number of muscles have to be coordinated to hold the position. An example would be to stand without a target and with you eyes closed, raise your pistol to what feels like a comfortable position. I feel the whole shooting position should be se...

No matter what color, the iris's main function is to increase depth of field. It is a poor substitute for a proper shooting lense. I have used both an iris and good shooting glasses. The problem with the iris is that when you stop it down (make the opening smaller) the increase in depth of field has...
