Does anyone know what the new proposed for Rapid Fire will be?

Will the new rules allow for the following:
1- wrap-around grips
2- 5% tolerance in box size for one dimension
3- no restriction on trigger weight (versus 1000 g for 25m)
4- 1260 g pistol weight (versus 1400 g for 25m)
5- muzzle brake or device functioning in a similar manner
6- barrel lenght more than 153mm
7- sight radius over 220 mm
8- more than 30 mm extension on rear of grips - ISSF 8.16.0 (b)
9- hight of barrel & front sight to exceed 40 mm

Or, will the Rapid Fire Pistol event conform to all of the specifications for the 25 m Pistol event?

Everything coming from the ISSF on this has just talked about the event being shot with Standard Pistols. The answers to your questions 1-9 will therefore be "No"

What about targets? Will they remain the same as before, too?

No, the targets will have the same size black as the existing 25m & 50m Precision target but the same size scoring rings (?) as the current Rapid Fire target.

That means that part of the 8 ring will be in the black and part will be in the white (although there is a slight doubt on this).

There will be no horizontal aiming lines (as used on the current Rapid Fire target).
