Hello all,

I'm new here and new to the 10m air pistol.
Now, I'm in the Netherlands, but I'm not Dutch, and I'm having quite some trouble navigating the Dutch competition system. I'm in a shooting club of a small city, but no one there is an expert in 10m air, which is what I'm interested in. I got my KNSA license and would like to start practicing for some competitions. So, anyone from around who can help me?

Where are you located? I'm in Harderwijk and a member of Wilhelm Tell Putten. Send me a PB if you want :)

so I guess that I can do the "open" competition. Do I just need my KNSA number to subscribe to the competitions? And there is a reason why they are until May and not after that?

You can also do AK, DK & LKK
The KNSA split Holland in 4 districts and it depends in which district you are located in.
LKK is a national match

ok, so as far as I understood (I don't have any ranking, nor i have ever participated in any competition):

I can participate in the Open competitions,
I can also participate in the "R" ranking competition.
To enter the district championship, must I first win (or rank high?) in the departmental competitions?
After that (Department> District), then I can go to the national competition.
all of this from October to May?

correct?

I still don't understand the placement. Veterans men are for >55 years old, but then there are other letters for men? Men-A to N?

You are correct.
The N,D,C,B,A & H klasse. N= new, H= high.
It depends what your average score is over several matches.

@Th. This is very interesting. I've just relaunched the monthly matches within my club and would like to use something like this to have a competitive ranking. How does the letter change the scores for the ranking in a competition ? We shoot one 20 shot competition each month.

Thanks @Th. I see the scoring used for the categories but not how to adapt the scores when mixing people in the different categories. Something akin to handicap in golf.

@ Ramon_op, ask KNSA for advice, they should be able to help you out.
