Electronic target system - for shorter distance

Post by MartinF »

Hi,
Can you suggest any electronic target system that allows me to adjust the shooting distance? I have 7 meters available at home instead of 10 meters. Does SIUS support that?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Regards

https://free-e-target.com/ does support shorter distances, but the problem is the physical target. the only alternative is to use an air rifle target (smaller black circle) at around 6 meters (don;t know the exact distance)

the only truly scalable target, that can simulate 10m at any distance, is Sport Quantum. it uses an LCD screen to "draw" the target, so it can make it as small as you want

The software should be able to adjust for a shorter distance, but if it isn't a common requirement/distance, the vendor may not bother to have that coded up. The problem with many systems (Megalink & SIUS at least) is the "masks", which are the paper with a hole in the middle to create the "black". You could enlarge the holes in rifle masks, but that's pretty tedious, depending on how good a shot you are. Nobody is going to go through the bother to make masks for arbitrary distances, and because of that, the software may not accommodate it either.

How about using a SCATT system? Print your own targets for just about any distance you like, and fire away. Plus you get a LOT of additional feedback on how the holes ended up where they landed.

There is only one true target that can do that easily and on a cheap - SQ10 from SportQuantum (postil or rifle, training specialty targets, 1 click scale from 3-15m, issf phase 1 approved and phase 2 in-progress, no consumables)
