There is a new article in "The Guardian," about women's air pistol competition in the Olympics....a little different maybe, but it is reaching out to folks who may not know the sport exists.

Have seen multiple articles and pics of her and not a single one about her gold medal winning teammate that happens to weigh I'm guessing 35lbs more than her? I don't think it's good for any sport; you don't have to be the best you just have to be prettier. Have also seen and been forwarded items from folks who know I shoot about the "funny cyborg glasses" that are scatter across mainstream and social media. Perhaps they'll run a bunch of shocking stories about cyclists keeping their legs shaved! That ought to make most dopes cough on their Coors and forget about our goofy glasses.

I thought the article referred to above to be a strange take on the sport, but that may be what gets neophytes interested.

There are many articles about the winner and they do celebrate her accomplishment. (Way more than what is referenced here, but most are copies of the AP wire.) Oh seems to be a very happy young girl. She should be...and I would bet she has many more years of shooting excellence ahead. (Yes, I am a girl dad.)
