Happy new year guys! With a new year comes new goals to set for ourselves for pistol shooting, so lets share our goals for this year!
My goals for this year are:
- get most shots in the 8 ring
- develop a consistent shot routine
- obtain a gradual, smooth trigger control
- (hopefully) score at least 540 by the end of this year
- participate in local competitions and workshops if time permits
- most importantly, enjoy pistol shooting

1) Drink the same or more amount of bourbon but significantly less coffee! I am a problem drinker; I go to bed at night thinking about my morning coffee. I enjoy whiskey and drink it almost daily but consume a small amount taken slowly enough that I feel no effect. Drinking coffee I perpetually reach the point where I know I should stop, but continue drinking until I’m buzzed and jittery.

Dry fire.
Dry fire.
Dry fire.
Every day. At least 15 minutes.

1. Keep up with the daily dry fire, it's easy to find time every day and had made the biggest difference to my groups now I am more attuned to the trigger feel and keeping better sight alignment throughout the shot and follow through. I also find it strangely addictive, just one more just one more just one more . . .
2. Be more disciplined and put the pistol down when the shot isn't developing well instead of persisting and letting off a less than ideal shot.

Probably at the very top of my list.
Second would be taking focus off the front sight and rushing to see where the shot landed. Very bad.
