USAS Athletes Shine at World Cup New Delhi
USA Shooting athletes win a total of eight medals (four gold, three silver, and one bronze) at ISSF World Cup New Delhi that took place March 18-29, 2021 in New Delhi, India.

For Olympic Team member Lucas Kozeniesky (Colorado Springs, Colorado), this marked his first World Cup gold medal win. Kozeniesky didn’t settle for just one. He won gold in the individual 10m air rifle event, a gold in the men’s team 10m air rifle event with teammates Will Shaner (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and Tim Sherry (Evergreen, Colorado), and bronze in the mixed team 10m air rifle event with Olympic Teammate Mary Tucker (Sarasota, Florida).

Tucker won a gold medal in the individual 10m air rifle event and silver in the 10m air rifle women’s team event alongside Olympic Team member Ali Weisz (Belgrade, Montana) and Olympic Alternate Sagen Maddalena (Groveland, California). Weisz won a silver medal in the individual 10m air rifle event.

Another gold medal belongs to the men’s rapid fire pistol team that includes four-time Olympian Keith Sanderson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and brothers Jack Leverett and Henry Leverett (Bainbridge, Georgia).

The men’s smallbore rifle team comprised of Nick Mowrer (Butte, Montana), Patrick Sunderman (Farmington, Minnesota), and Tim Sherry won silver in the 50m team event. Mowrer also competed in men’s 10m air pistol where he made the finals, and ultimately finished eighth. He will compete in the 10m air pistol event in Tokyo and hopes to make history by also competing in the men’s smallbore rifle event.

All in all, Team USA brought home eight medals, second to only India in overall medal count. In addition to the medals, Lexi Lagan (Boulder City, Nevada) and Mowrer both qualified for their finals in 25m sport pistol and 10m air pistol respectively.
