I recently got a used ("like new") 46m, started to shoot, but had big problems zeroing it. When I looked at the rear sight assembly, I found 2 problems:
- left-right has a play of ~ 0.5mm
- up-down does not seem to have a spring pushing it up
Any advise on fixing (other than buying Steyr or Morini)? Is there a chance to fix it, or I'd better look for a full assembly?

Re: Izh 46m rear sight assembly problem
Replying to myself. Problem solved. There was a sign that seller was aware of it (or seller to seller) - rear blade was screwed in all the way to the left.
I admire the engineering - single spring responsible both for windage and elevation. Problem itself - elevation was screwed up to the level plunger went out too far, and rusted in place.
Cleaned and oiled, now it works well!
