Keith Sanderson clinched the Men’s Rapid Fire Olympic Team Spot, naming the full five-member USA Shooting Olympic Pistol Team.

After an almost six month process, Keith Sanderson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) walks away the Olympic Qualifier for Men’s Rapid Fire with a high score of 1157 at Olympic Trials Part 2. After coming into the Trials down six points, he shot a 581 and 576 plus won the final to secure his spot on the Olympic Team. Henry Leverett (Bainbridge, Georgia) had a good performance as well, and finished second in the Olympic Trials after a long competition. He will be Team USA’s first alternate in Men’s Rapid Fire, and at the age of 18 he certainly has quite the career ahead of him. His brother, Jack Leverett III (Bainbridge, Georgia) ended up in 3rd place just a few points behind him.

The full USA Shooting Olympic Team for Pistol has been named at this time and is below:

Men’s Air Pistol:

Nick Mowrer (Butte, Montana)
James Hall (Columbia, Missouri)
Women’s Sport Pistol:

Alexis Lagan (Boulder City, Nevada)
Sandra Uptagrafft (Phenix City, Alabama)
Men’s Rapid Fire:

Keith Sanderson (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

In Women’s Air Pistol, Alexis Lagan came away with the Spring Selection win after a match performance of 1143 and a 2nd place finish in the final. The Sport Pistol Olympian ended up edging out her opponent by 5 points. Katelyn AbeIn(Douglasville, Georgia) who ended up winning the final, takes second overall in the match. Unfortunately, there are no Women’s Air Pistol Quota Spots. However, both women will be listed on the USA Shooting ranking list in the case that spots become available.
