Just short of one year progress.

I came back to air pistol last November after a 15 year brake and even longer since competing with AP.
So far this month has seen a personal best of 570 along with 568 and 569.
Looking for ways to keep this progression..
Training thus far involves dry firing, shooting on a blank card and on cards with no score rings but the 9 ring.

The progress now gets slower, to go from 570 to 575 will take twice or three times as much work than it did from 560 to 570.
Sounds like the physical game is well under way, now the mental game.
Start going to as many competitions as you can, the higher level the better, and see if those scores are repeatable at higher level matchs.
The mental game will be under control when at a States or National level you can shoot your training score's.

Very actual for me.
Starting with AP 2018 (in 44 years) my training score in AP 60 is about 540 pts (six attempts from Jan 2019).
Yesterday my first shooting in AP 60 at National level - 495 pts.
I'm looking for mental coach :-))

Whilst I would never say that a mental coach/mentor is a bad thing, I cannot help but think that shooting in a lot more high quality matches would be a good move (and I did notice your smiley)

My first and only real match in Air Pistol other than the re-entry matches at Camp Perry was in 2000 in Palo Alto CA, where I shot 542.

I just started AP in January, and it's been a crazy ride. My scores have plateaued after an injury (physical therapy has really been helping) but I. Hoping to break that 570 barrier soon. Best of luck!
