the 6 boxes on the target

what purpose serve those 6 boxes on the top right corner of a target? 5 of the same size and the last one a bit bigger

For scoring.
Personal preference but I would use the top box to write in the number of points dropped on the 6 ring and lower.
Next box for the number of dropped points on the 7 ring, etc.
The bottom box would be the total and the number of inner 10s.
As I said, personal preference. They are not there on strict ISSF targets.

Greetings,
We shoot five shots per card. (Friendly match, not Registered.)
Then, when scoring, the value of each shot goes into a box.
Add the above five boxes for a total five shot score.
Mostly helpful when scoring other shooters and it give you a chance to agree/disagree with the values.

OK, fc60, you got it in one.
I half-ass ran the AP matches at the Mid-Winter; that's the system I used. I did get some goofy looks, though.
