Pellet Prices over the last year

I last bought pellets about a year ago and was looking to buy a new batch. The price increases seem rather surprising, at least 50% increase. Has there been a recent spike in prices or has it been trending up pretty steadily?

The price of lead has gone up. The shotgun reloaders are also paying increased prices for lead shot. This has negatively impacted shotshell reloading. We have seen this before. Hopefully lead prices will back off at some point.

> The price of lead has gone up.

It doesn't seem to be the case:

Even considering min and max prices over 5 years (to account for stock), there is not enough change to justify a 50% increase.
One lb of lead is about $1 and enough to make 1000 pellets, so the price of the material per 500 is about 50c

Trump's trade war might be the cause of increased prices for imported pellets from Europe.

How about buying your pellets somewhere else.

Have Crosman pellet prices increased? Asking just as a data point.

I was comparing my receipts from last couple years to the prices charged by various vendors on RWS pellets. The price increases ranged from 50% to 3x depending on vendor.

Fortunately I have a year supply left, I usually start looking in the fall with no real pressure to buy now. I try to avoid weird price spikes.

Thank you for the link, Rover; a good time to learn German (or Dutch).
More seriously, it seems that even without buying bulk, $6-$9 per 500 is the ongoing price for basic pellets:

Thanks for the link Rover that price is remarkable!
Without the 19% VAT it looks even better. Have you ordered from them? If so, how much was shipping to Az?
thanks

Being a manufacturing engineer by trade, I understand the environmental compliance costs of tbe ROHS act keep climbing as lead becomes a bigver villian each year...... Also lets not forget transport costs are at an all time high and transportation of tbe product through the production/distribution channel is a surprisingly large percentage of most things...... Im happy to shoot enough to bitch about pellet prices.....

I haven't ordered from them, but I've been considering it. I would sell them to others in my club.

I would phone or email (in English) as to the cheapest (slowest) shipped price.

Right now, Neal Stepp at International Shooters Service has a good price on 500 pack RWS Basic pellets. Buy two sleeves and have them shipped Priority Mail.
