Benelli PE95 trigger reset

Hi,
I'm using this pistol for some time now and having problems with it's trigger reset, which most of the time does not happen unless I completely remove the finger, and even then, it is very slow. I cannot shoot rapid fire with it, nor be sure of it's reliability in slow fire.
Tried to fiddle with the 2 screws available for the settings but nothing seems to work.
Did anyone encountered such a problem with this pistol? any suggestions?
Thanks

You sure it isn't an MP95? I've never heard of a PE95. Assuming it's an MP95, the disconnector function depends on the vintage of the trigger. Does it have a lever on the top right side of the trigger mechanism?

The two screws have nothing do do with the reset operation.

My guess is that the disconnector is sticking in the down position. It sounds like it probably just needs a good cleaning & lubrication. I'd hit it with aerosol electronics cleaner that won't hurt the plastic housing, and then apply very light oil. The Benelli factory oil is very thin. RemOil is a good substitute.

If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the spring (#108P) that lifts the disconnector.

Thanks for your answer.
Indeed, it is the MP95.
I tried cleaning and thought of using WD40 on the trigger group but finally decided not to because of the plastic housing. I applied Gun Butter, a product that I have very good experience with on other guns. I'll try replacing the spring you've suggested and see how it runs.

NEVER use WD-40 on a trigger mechanism. it dries and leaves a sticky film that will glue small parts together. Gun Butter sounds like a grease. That is WAY too viscous. You want a THIN oil that won't provide any extra drag.

If you push down on the disconnector (#098P), it should spring back up immediately as you release it. It it hesitates at all, that's the problem you are trying to solve. Grease will only slow it down.
