Duplicating Eagle eye effect in shooting lens

I'm looking to remove my 0.3 eagle eye and move the magnification to my shooting lens instead (not ISSF prohibited). My current prescription is +0.25, would it be as simple as changing to +0.5 or would it become +1.5 (as eagle eye is sometimes listed as x1.3 magnification)?
thanks

My guess is that your prescription is going to stay at +0.25. This keeps the same focus on the foresight but the target image will just get smaller and sharper.
You will have to reduce your foresight size as the target is now smaller.
If you increase your prescription to +0.50 you will decrease focus on the target without achieving any significant magnification. All you will achieve is to decrease the focus on the target and increase the focus on the foresight.
A 0.3 diopter only achieves it's magnification because it is positioned a long way from the eye at the end of the barrel.
Cheers
Martin

Magnification is a function of both lens power and lens distance. If you put it in your glasses it will be too close to magnify much.
