Hi there

Is there anyone else with a walther SSP-E? My gun does not have the o-ring on the spring rod. so there is no recoil dampening and the slide kicks quite hard.
I am just wondering if the missing o-ring is normal for the electronic version, or if i have a wrong part...
Does anybody have an explosion-drawing for the E?

Thank you guys in advance and have some nice eastershooting days!

Phil

I have an SSP-e which also does not have the o-ring. I haven't noticed that the recoil is that hard, although perhaps it would be even less with the o-ring.
In the users "cleaning manual", there clearly is an o-ring pictured on the damper plunger, but not the striker plunger:
http://www.carl-walther.de/public/downl ... 764164.pdf

There's no mention anywhere I can find that Walther has determined that this o-ring is no longer required.

I bought the gun used and maybe a previous owner forgot to re-assemble it with the o-ring.
My recommendation is to contact the Walther dealer and find out what to do, if anything - I haven't gotten around to it myself!

Hi.
My SSP mechanical is about 2 years old, and and doesn't have the O-ring.
I'm sure that Walther has stopped applying the O-ring some years ago.
I don't know the exact reason.

The rod in your picture does not have the groove which accommodates the oring or the vents like the manual version does. I could never tell any difference in felt recoil between the two different orifice fittings provided anyway.

Thank you for your replys. Did not know, its missing in the mechanic version as well.
In that case, i think the missing sealing is intentionally.
But that means, the other two o-rings and vent screws have now no function anymore. I try to get another rod, with a groove for an o-ring, and hope for softer recoil.

Thank you and have a nice weekend
Phil

The o-ring is still showing in the earlier downloads on the Walther website. They must have dropped the idea which is odd after they promoted the feature highly at the SSP's introduction.

Maybe it was to difficult to make it work reliable with different ammobrands. But thats just a guess.
I hope it does not shorten the lifespan.
