We use wheel Wts to balance my sons ar,with the rule change is this illegal?

I think your son is fine (at this point). The new rule can be viewed in various ways. What "I" think they are trying to avoid are wieghts "taped" onto the rifle. Even stick on one's that you have should be good, but then again, I am not a rules judge.

Weights also need to be within the fundamental shape of the stock. One might argue that sticking to the side of the stock would fail that test. Who knows til the final version with diagrams is released.
