Day 3 in Thailand: This morning, Tammy Delano shot a 405.3 in the R2 (10m Air Rifle Women SH1) to get into the final where she finished in 8th place. Veronika Vadovicova from SVK won the Gold Medal over Elke Seeliger from GER and local favorite Wasana Keatjaratkul from THA
All but Tammy compete again tomorrow, with P4, R5 and R6 on the line.
Final Day
Team USA wrapped up the IPC World Cup THA today with two finals berths in four starts. That makes for a total of 6 finals and 1 medal for the competition.
Mike Tagliapietra shot a 492 in P4 (50m Pistol Mixed SH1) to finish 19th. Many good shooters struggled today in the gusty conditions.
In the R6 (50m Rifle Prone Mixed SH1) match John Joss finished 5th in the final after qualifying with a 601.4. None of the shooters managed a high score in the rapidly switching conditions on this sticky hot and humid day. Natascha Hiltrop (GER) won the gold medal over Vadovicova and Doroschenko who both medaled on other events earlier in the week.
In the R5 (10m Air Rifle Prone Mixed SH2) event, Jazmin Almlie shot a new Americas Record of 633.9, raising McKenna Dahl’s record from UAE. In the final, Almlie finished 6th and Gold went to Thai shooter Anuson Chaichamnan in front of a raucous home crowd. Teammate McKenna Dahl lost a heartbreaking 3 way tiebreaker and finished 9th with her 632.9
