The air compressor at our club is acting up. When she gets up to about 150-170 Bar it will bog down and stop. We thought it may have been the capacitor but that was not it. If you know of anybody in the USA who could take a look at it let me know. Thanks

Do you have a schematic of this unit?

Supposedly FX stuff is sold by "Airguns of Arizona". I'd contact them:

Sounds like they can't be too far away. They are in Gilbert.

They may sell it, but their repairs are dubious. We had a guy around the club that did some nice work on it, but he died.

I don't suppose there are many dive shops in Arizona.

Faustian bargain with the compressor gods?
Some AC Motors use capacitors for some sort of wizardry to do with the current leading the phase, or something.
Rotating magnetic field? E&M is pretty magical.
Capacitors have a rated useful life and are easily replaced. I have done this for the Rika target changers at the Whangarei Pistol Club. Nothing has caught fire...
yet.
If it has no capacitor(s), or if the capacitor is with 5% of the original spec then I have no idea. I actually kind of have no idea anyway. Good luck.

We have no wiring diagrams or manuals that I know of. I will give Air Guns of AZ a call. Thanks all for taking a look.

If you have a good refrigeration/ air conditioning technician in your club, he may be able to trouble shoot it.
