It's got cosmetic changes too, the bolt is now black with 'Absorber' written on it (so now 'Absorber' is written twice on the same side of the gun), the 'made in Italy' font is bigger and ....ehhh.... more modern, the plate the cylinder butts up against is now black as well, and the cylinder is a bright white....so bright it was blown out in the pic Pardini Italy sent me last week. If you want a pic PM me your email and I'll send it to you. I personally was having a real hard time last week choosing to get either a 162 EI or a K12, both guns have won World Cup finals, but after I got the pics Pardini Italy sent me of the latest redesign my mind was instantly made up, but I'm a gun collector primarily and not a competitive shooter like most here, either gun would always easily out shoot me. You may personally dig what Pardini did, but I didn't, very subjective obviously, ymmv.

I have been offered a NIB K12 at a "reduced price", but tubes are only good for ten years so half the value of the tubes has nearly passed away. Furthermore, the second hand value is reduced.

From what I learn from your answers the pistol has also changed, to the better I hope.

A mere 500$ may not be enough to make up for the difference.

The weight of the tubes has changed?

Didn't know that!
Can anyone inform me as to the weight difference?

This is a major consideration for me. I now shoot the K2S Air, and I'm borrowing a friend's K12 Absorber.
The K12 weights about 60 grams more which also makes it heavier than the factory specification indicates.
They're both 990g according to the spec, but the electronic scale claimed 998 and 1060g, respectively.

I suggest trying a short cylinder on the K12 if you want to change the balance.

Are you sure that the K12 short has the SAME LENGTH of sight radius as the LP10 or 162EI? It's hard to believe a kurtz model having the same length as a standard model.

Yes. My K12 Short has 34cm sight radius, and my full length (but modded comp) 162EI 33cm. Just check where the rear sight is positioned.

Tycho, the specs on the Pardini site is more or less correct, it states the K12 junior having a radius of 310-350 mm (31 cm.-35 cm.), the Morini 162EI has up to 410 mm (41 cm.) and the LP10, 316-365 mm (31.6 cm-36.5 cm).

162ei standards are exactly 350. I think you go to 410 with the extension.

The only misleading information is that of the Steyr web page. The standard length is 365, and that can be made longer by sliding the rear sight backwards.

Just checked my LP10, with the rear sight set the furthest back, it measures 383 mm (38.3 cm).
