Our shooting team/group has begun to compile a stock of expired air pistol/rifle cylinders. Some leaking, some not. We had thought about recycling them for the value of the aluminum. However, we wanted to ask what others are doing with theirs. All answers welcome.

Use them! Their value as scrap is nil.
You could also sell them cheaply here since others might USE THEM.

If you have any 20 year rated cylinders that are not longer "legal" for competition, I would give them to a junior program for training purposes. They should be perfectly safe.
We have a whole bunch of Hammerli 480K cylinders that have a few years left of their 20 year life. We still use them for new shooters who won't be competing. Unfortunately, many of the seals & valves are dying, and they aren't worth repairing.
Once cylinders are really dead, you may want to strip them for parts. That way if you have a new cylinder that needs (for example) a gauge, you have a source for repair parts. If you don't feel comfortable repairing cylinders, then they are pretty much scrap.
