Toz-35M front sight removal

I recently purchased one of the "new" Toz-35m pistols with the intent of building a "bobbed Toz" and experimenting with some other modifications.

I removed the screw securing the front sight blade, and the screw securing the band to the barrel, but the front sight band/mount is still securely attached to the barrel (at about a 6-7 degree cant to the left, but that's irrelevant for my purposes).

Is the front sight band attached with solder or some sort of adhesive in addition to the screw? (I thought that might explain the assembler's disinterest in correcting the front sight orientation). I've broken enough stuff in my life with the premature application of brute force that I don't want to take the wrench to it just yet. Perhaps the band is heated prior to assembly like they do with connecting rods and piston pins?

Thanks in advance.

The upside with the 'M' front sight mount is the removable design. The downside is that the single retention screw sometimes loosens. Several of the 35Ms I've owned were fixed by previous owners with Loctite. You can break the bond with heat: 500* is all you need. Get a micro torch and slowly warm the band all around until the glue lets go. Light taps with a piece of hardwood should bring happiness.

A tilted front sight on a TOZ is a factory mod to work around a poorly made rear sight. Figure out why the rear blade is cocked over and you can have a vertical front post.
