Removal of electronics from grip of LP10/LP50

Post by TomAmlie »

How does one go about removing the electronics from the grip of an LP10e/LP50e? I purchased a used LP10e, and removed the grip to adjust the trigger/grip angle. The little white connector came unhooked. In trying to re-connect it, there is either an INCREDIBLY strong spring holding the connector in the grip, or something is pinched somewhere and there's no slack in the wire.

I thought removing the entire electronics from the grip and reinstalling it might help.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks; exactly what I need. I thought it might be as simple as levering the unit out, but better safe than sorry..

I had the same problem when I got my LP10E, but mine was because I was switching to a small rink grip. My solution was to snip the spring with a pair of sidecutters, but then take special care not to trap the cable when I re-fitted the new grip.

Crude, but effective...

Yep, I got rid of the spring almost straight away. Remount the grip with the electronics out of the pocket (just poke the cable through the grip to plug it in first), that way you can see the cable if free, then once the grip is tightened, put the electronic module in.
